  • 1987 is the best Robot Chicken episode ever. As they say in "The Best Robot Chicken Ever"

The episode was just sooo funny to watch, I actually have this on my iPod, and I can't get enough of it. Very, very funny stuff. My favorite parts were Mo-Larr visiting Skeletor, Vadar & Palpatine phone call and Captain Planet. All hilarious parts of the show. Also, you can't forget, the random 'Humping Robot'. One of the best parts, also continued in other episodes. So a few of my favorite quotes include:

Pan Global Consecutive: You got glass in my eye.

Ted Turner: And my foot in your balls, Captain Planet!

Skeletor: Ahhh! Oh massage chair, if we lived in Canada, I would make you my bride.

So many funny memories. Love that episode lots!moreless
  • easily my favourite episode of robot chicken, though mainly based on just the sketch of palpatine. very funny!

    9.8
this episode is one of my personal favorites, and although it has a lot of great jokes, i mainly like this episode for the sketch of darth vader and palpaptine. it is more funny than most things ive ever seen, it's just one of those things when you flick through the channels and casualy see this one episode that instantly turns you on to the entire season. this actually is what happend to me, although it could also be that its the first episode of this i watched, which i think many of you have also felt after watching a episode of a show, that is on your first episode you instantly fall in love with it and find it the best episode although it's only your first.keep it up robot chicken!moreless
  • There\'s an error in the episode information.

    9.2
This is an interesting spin Robot Chicken takes; while parodies and spoofs are very common to the show, none quite like this have been seen. Unfortunately, there is an error in the episode information above. Michael Ian Black and Hal Sparks are not regulars to the show Best Week Ever, but to I Love The 70s - I Love The 80s 3D. The two are very prominent and hilarious commentators on the show, one that is of a very similar format to Best Week Ever.moreless
  • I'm so glad I taped this episode!

    7.2
This was indeed a very fine example for this series. I also noticed that there weren't as many few second sketches like the other episodes. Just in the beginning. But that's okay because it made it a little more fun to watch with more sketches that lasted more than 15 seconds. The Idle nuts sketch was really funny the whole way because it was like that movie called Idle Hands, and the midgit sketch wasn't as funny, but it had its moments that were. The news reporter one was funny because of that Paris Hilton with the weather and the Underdog one. I can't really think of what the best skit was because they were all equally good.moreless
  • Very Good episode!!

    9.3
A very good episode, a very funny one just as i hoped they are starting to get better and better there were more sketches than usual and not such a long sketch at the end like there normal is i find that tha sketch at the end becomes boring after a while, the news sketch with the car chase was the best it is my favourite out of this episode, i belive this show is getting better hopefully next week will be better than this, robot chicken i believe has still got a futre in television, i hope to see more like this.moreless

    • The Emperor's phone has the same ring as the CTU phones on "24."

    • During the Mo-Larr segment, Grizzlor was one of the two villains that appeared from Skeletor's castle. Strangely enough, Grizzlor is part of Hordack's Horde from the animated series She-Ra: Princess of Power. He wasn't part of Skeletor's group in the He-Man: Master of the Universe series.

    • The tooth Mo-Larr was supposed to take out a wisdom tooth but he took out a tooth in the front instead.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Man (To Ted Turner/Captain Planet): You got glass in my eye!
Ted Turner: And my foot in your balls!

    • Hal Sparks: (after making out with a doll of himself) It's not gay! It's masturbation!

    • The Emperor: (On phone to Darth Vader) Vader! How's my favorite Sith? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, just slow down. Huh? What do you mean, "They blew up the Death Star"? (Bleep)! Oh, (Bleep), (Bleep), (Bleep)! Who's "they"? What the hell is an "Aluminum Falcon"? (Sighs) Okay. Okay, so--so who's left? Are you sh(bleep)ng me? Well where are you? Wait a sec, you've been flying around for two weeks trying to get a signal? Ugh, you must smell like...feet wrapped in leathery...burnt...bacon. Oh, oh, oh. I'm-I'm sorry I thought my "Dark Lord of the Sith" could protect a small thermal exhaust port that's only two meters wide. The thing wasn't even fully paid off yet! Do you have--Do you have any idea what this is gonna do to my credit?

(Another line on the phone rings.)

The Emperor: Uhh! Hang on, I got another call. (switches phone line) WHAT?! I'm very busy right now!...Oh. Oh, well...well where are they going? Huh, all right, um...get me a turkey club. Uh...coleslaw, I guess. I'm-I'm not even gonna eat it. Well wha-wha-what are you getting? Yeah, see? I-I always order the wrong thing. No, no, no, I'll just stick with that. Okay, bye--wait, what? Oh, uh, Cherry Coke. Thanks.

(The Emperor switches back to Darth Vader's phone line.)

The Emperor: Sorry about that. (Sighs) What? Oh, oh, "Just rebuild it"? Oh, uh huh, how real (Bleep)ing original! And who's gonna give me a loan, jackhole? You? You got an ATM on that torso LiteBrite? Now, get your seven-foot-two asthmatic ass back here, or I'm gonna tell everyone what a whiny bitch you were about "Pound-a-mommy" or "Panda Bear" or whatever the hell her name is!

    • Pan Global Executive: Argh! You got glass in my eye!
Ted Turner: And my foot in your balls! CAPTAIN PLANET!

    • Grizzlor: (To Mo-Larr, after he gets stabbed in the eye with a dental drill) How come Beast-Man got the dental floss, and I get the f***ing drill in my eye?!?

    • Ted Turner: (dressed like Captain Planet) Protect the environment, or I'll *bleep* kill you!

    • Ted Turner: CAPTAIN PLANET!

  • NOTES (4)

  • ALLUSIONS (7)

    • Ocean's 11
The "Slip N' Slide" movie trailer taking place in the casino with George Clooney is a direct reference to the film Ocean's 11, even the movie poster is designed much like that of the sequel, Ocean's 12.

    • Star Wars
The sketch where Emperor Palpatine receives a call from Darth Vader parodies the aftermath of the 1977 Star Wars film, A New Hope. The sketch is held on the planet Coruscant, which is featured in the prequels and later edited into Return of the Jedi.

The "aluminum falcon" the Emperor asks about is a misinterpretation of Han Solo's ship, the Millenium Falcon.

    • Chutes and Ladders
The title for the fake movie trailer, Chutes and Ladders, is based on the Milton Bradley/Hasbro board game.
The movie that is directly being parodied is Starsky & Hutch, which also starred Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, in which they must work as partners in the police force.
Also being parodied in the segment of the trailer with Ben Stiller is Dodgeball, Meet the Parents, There's Something About Mary, and Along Came Polly.

    • Best Week Ever
The sketch, Best Robot Chicken Ever, is a parody of the VH1 show, Best Week Ever. Hal Sparks and Micheal Ian Black are regulars of the VH1 show, while Master Shake is an animated character from Adult Swim's Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

    • Captain Planet
Captain Planet was an animated series from the early 90's created by none other than Ted Turner. The show promoted environmental awareness while giving action to keep the viewers interested, and the show lasted six seasons. It is still shown on TV today, especially on Ted Turner's own network, TBS.

    • In one segment, a doctor is asking a dog about what he's been sleeping on. The joke is that the dog, Snoopy of Peanuts comics, frequently sleeps face up on his doghouse.

    • Mortal Kombat

The popular Mortal Kombat character Johnny Cage was absent from the series for a while, which upset many fans. The skit with Johnny Cage and Kano (another Mortal Kombat character) is a reference to his absence.
