S&M stands for 'Seth & Matt.'
It is interesting that both Joey and Britney grow to the size of giant monsters, yet, during the fights in the ring, Joey takes on Tranzor/Mazinger Z, a giant Japanese fighting robot, but who is only human size. Even its pilot has shrunk in proportion with the robot.
The Robot Chicken logo can be seen on billbords during the final fight scene with Joey and Britney Spears.
The Mortal Kombat character named Smoke never had fire powers.
(Joey's first opponent is revealed)
Joey: Oh my God! It's!... It's!...

Pat Morita: You can't enter that tournament without the proper skills, Fat One.
Joey Fatone: ...And will you train me, Mr. Miyagi?
Pat Morita: First of all, I'm Pat-effin'-Morita, ya nutsack. Second of all, you're too old for the training.
Daniel-san: (enters with a plunger) So was I... if you remember.
Pat Morita: Daniel-san! I thought I smelled failure. That toilet's not going to uplug itself!
Joey Fatone: Of course! Together, we're stronger than we ever were solo! Right, Justin?
Justin Timberlake: Well... uh… heh... All right.
Justin: Don't worry, Joey!
JC: We're here to help you!
Lance: All for one and one for all!
Chris: Reaganomics!
Britney Spears: N*Sync? Naw, I killed REO Speedwagon. I F**kin' hate those guys! What? Really? Well then, I have some unfinished buisness with REO Speedwagon.
Announcer: Can Joey survive the tournament? Will N*Sync be avenged? Does this look infected to you? Find out next time on "Enter the Fat One!"
Hello Kitty: "There are 42 pressure points in the human body which result in death, I shall show you 41. The 42nd I shall someday need to use on you."
Hello Kitty: The human body has 42 pressure points. I will teach you 41, in case i have to kill you!!!
Britney Spears: Not so fast, fat one! Meet my home girls: Christina Aguilera... Avril Lavigne... Jessica Simpson... Jessica Simpson's sister!
Ashlee Simpson: I'm Ashlee.
Britney Spears: (annoyed sigh) Shh! The big kids are talking!
Raphael: Awesome!
Leonardo: Excellent!
Donatello: Cowabunga!
Michaelangelo: Reaganomics!
Donatello: Clean, sober, and back on television. Things are lookin' good for the Feldster.
Joey: There's too many of them!
Pat Morita: Concentrate. Only one of these turtles if voiced by Corey Feldman.
"Enter the Fat One" was originally done for Sony's "Sweet J Presents..."
Of course, changes and edits have been made to the plot since the original version was made in 2001. For example, Mandy Moore is now replaced by Ashlee Simpson as one of Britney Spears' entourage.
The quote "My name is Joey Fatone. You killed my bandmates. Prepare to die." is a take-off of the repeated quote "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." from the "Princess Bride."
Mila Kunis is credited with "Bustin' Heads"
Sarah Michelle Gellar is credit with "Breaking Hearts" (as "Sarah Gellar")

No Twisted Toyfare Theater regulars appear in this episode.
Stoopid Monkey Logo: Shows the monkey holding a banana in one hand and a gun in the other. Guess which one is in his mouth?
Cory Feldman was the voice of Donatello in the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
This is the first time a featured segment has taken up two distinct parts in the same episode.
When Joey is fighting the Britney/Christina/Ashlee/Jessica/Avril hybrid, he shouts, "I'm doing my thing!", "Don't you tear up my heart!", "God should've spent a little more time on you!", and then his bandmates cry "Bye, Bye, Bye" as they leave his body. "Do Your Thing", "Tearin' up My Heart", "God Must've Spent a Little More Time on You", and "Bye, Bye, Bye" are the names of four *Nsync songs.
Enter the Dragon
The title of the main segment 'Enter the Fat One' is a parody of the 1973 Bruce Lee kung-fu movie Enter the Dragon, which was the first American produced martial arts film.
Q*Bert
At the beginning of the Signs parody, the language the aliens speak when they're first seen is actually sound samples from the video game Q*Bert. Whenever the player lost a life in any manner, apart from jumping off the pyramid, Q*Bert made a sound caused by a random stringing of syllables.
SuperFriends
Britney Spears utters "Inuk-chuk before she grows, which was the phrase the Apache Chief used to grow huge in SuperFriends.
G.I. Joe
During the 2nd act of 'Enter The Fat One,' Joey's 2nd opponent, Storm Shadow, reveals that he has the same tattoo as Joey. This tattoo is a reference to the Marvel G.I. Joe comic book. The tattoo is the symbol of the Arashikage Clan, of which Snakes Eyes and Cobra Commander's son, Billy, were members. Other G.I. Joe members, classic and future, that were a part of the clan were Jinx, Kamakura, and Nunchuk.
"Reaganomics" was the name for President Ronald Reagan's federal plan for improving the economy by ending inflation and perfecting the nation's defense in the 1980s.
The black and white robot that Joey Fatone fights in the tournament is Great Mazinger, a famous anime mecha from a TV series of the same name. Seth Green is a big fan of the Mazinger series, so RC got all the details right, including Great's use of its rocket punch attack (called Atomic Punch) and the jet fighter in the head (the Brain Condor) popping out of the defeated robot. Great Mazinger can also be seen in the Mazinkaiser OVA series.
This is a reference to the early days of satellite TV. Back when you needed a massive dish in the back yard. Porn channels came in fuzzy and scrambled much like you see in sketch. Many people didn't bother having it unscramble and watched it that way. Hence the gag.
The third ninja fights in training is another Mortal Kombat character named Smoke.
Scorpion: Come here you!
The two ninjas (sub-zero and scorpion) that Joey fights are from a very popular video game called "Mortal Kombat"
