According to the Adult Swim Interactive Video for this episode, one problem the writing team ran into was "resurrecting" the Robot Chicken crew for the third season.
Originally, they wanted to resurrect the Robot Chicken in a similar fashion to the Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode, "Video Ouija."
They would spend weeks tyring to write a comeback that didn't involve zombies, such as time traveling and having Mike Crofford flying around the Earth several times, similar to the ending of the Christopher Reeve Superman movie.
They came up with so many ideas that Mike Lazzo had suggested the producers doing an entire episode of season openings, which did not happen.
Breckin Meyer does not reprise his role of Superman. Instead, Seth Green voices him here, because the producers ran out of budget.
Frank Welker reprises his role of Megatron and Soundwave from the TV show "The Transformers."
This is the first episode that didn't show the Mad Scientist experiment on the Robot Chicken!
Seth Green: "Cha-Ching"
On Seth Green's tombstone, the words below his name are: "CHA-CHING."
During the early 1990's, Seth appeared in commercials for Rally's Hamburgers as the window cashier, sparking the catchphrase "Cha-Ching!" The tombstone marking is a reference to Seth's commercial work.
The Clapper:
The short segment of The Shouter is an obvious reference/parody of the infamous device known as The Clapper.
