  • There just weren't any good segments in this one.

Normally this show is hilarious, but this episode was pretty lame. None of the long segments were very funny, and the only funny short segment was the one with the drill.

There were a couple that just made me think "what's the point of this one?". The one with the two guys doing a reality show just didn't make any sense, or provoke any laughs. That, and the one at the end featuring a Richie Rich episode of some Cribs-style show, make me wonder if maybe I'm not watching enough insipid MTV crap.

But, this is one of the first bad episodes they've had. Even the best shows have off days once in a while. I'm sure next week's will be much better.moreless
  • Terrible

This episode was awful. I didn't laugh at all. I thought that all the short and long jokes were awful and didn't make me laugh at all. I thought it was a little funny with the whole richy-rich thing but that was about it. They really need to take it up a notch. This is one of the worst episodes i have ever seen. I mean theres not one good one in this episode. I think they are trying to hard or something. Maybe change the writers or something. Well it could have been a lot better but it could have been even badder.moreless
  • While it's clearly not the best episode of the show ever, this episode reminds me of why I started watching the show, because many of the sketches used references of the nostalgia I knew growing up.moreless

There is no doubt in my mind that this episode will not break barriers or win any awards, but, as a fan of television, animation, films, and the like, I found this episode to be beyond my expectations of a regular episode. The Richie Rich sketch alone was probably one of the best sketches I've seen in a while. The Wimpey & Popeye sketch was what I expected from the show, and I absolutely loved it, because I like the characterization of Wimpey from the old Popeye cartoons and the way the series writers adapted him to the show.

The Dinosaur "Armogeddon" sketch was okay, but I was glad it wasn't the premiere sketch of the episode. The short sketches were even great in this episode.

The MTV Exposed parody was awesome, but it was even better after watching it a second time and seeing the subtle humor with the Barbie references. The sketch proved how superficial the show really is. The Beetlejuice sketch was awesome. I was a fan of the movie and the cartoon, and the sketch took an angle that I didn't expect, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The sketch with the Nerd acting as a Superhero while unconscious was so-so. It was probably one of the sketches I liked less, but it had its moments.

The Flinstone short sketch asked an important question that even I wondered as a longtime watcher of that show.

However, the Richie Rich sketch made me laugh so hard that I cried, and I couldn't get some of the lines from that sketch out of my head for days. This episode shows how great this series is and can be in the future. It can be funny in its context.moreless
  • How anyone could Not like this show is beyond me!

Seriously, if you don't like this show by now you are probably devoid of humor and have never laughed a moment in your life. This show is humor gold and the parodies prove it! Dinosaurs re-enact three things from pop culture history in one sketch! They discover a meteor headed to Earth, and they plan to stop it the way it was stopped in "Armageddon." The dinosaurs walk to their make-shift leaf rocket ship just as the brave men walked in "The Right Stuff." And unfortunately, the rocket ship exploded a few seconds after take off just like the Challenger exploded in 1986. Than one kid has his dreams fulfilled (sort of) when he gets a super hero costume! Too bad he's unconscious during the whole thing, and the aliens take the costume back so he won't be performing any more super-heroic deeds! At least some girls got to see that he Is indeed a man, if nothing else. And Richie Rich proves that when it comes to being...well, rich, nobody can top him! He poses for money and he can even produce gold bricks! (Albeit in a very disgusting way!) And those were only three of the golden sketches found in this episode! So you can imagine what the rest of it is like! Funny! That's why I wrote this review! Enough said, true believers! ;)moreless

  • QUOTES (0)

  • NOTES (2)

    • The Greatest American Hero: When the nerdy kid gets a superhero costume, it looks just like the one worn during the 1980's show The Greatest American Hero. The song played while the kid is unconcious performing the super-hero acts, also parodies the theme song to the show.

    • Challenger Explosion: When the dinosaurs leaf rocket explodes only a few seconds after take-off, the way it explodes is eerily similar to the tragic way N.A.S.A. spaceship Challenger exploded in 1986 which killed 6 astronauts, one of which was a teacher who would've been the first civilian in space.

    • The Right Stuff:
When the dinosaur astronauts are walking towards their make-shift rocket ship, they are walking just like the main cast of The Right Stuff when they walked towards their space ship.

    • Armageddon: The plan the dinosaurs come up with to stop the meteor from hitting Earth is similar to the one used in the 1998 movie Armageddon.
