Robot Wars Extreme: Show 1
AIRED:
Tonight's Main Event was a Challenge Belt competition. Behemoth is a very tough robot to beat. In fact he should have been the World Champion instead of Razer! So the World Association of Robotics (WARS; no surprise) gave them the Robot Wars Challenge Belt. If they can hold on to the belt for 3 battles, they can take it home, other wise, they lose the belt. Battle 1: Vengence Match House Robots: Sir Killalot and Dead Metal This was a grudge match to decide which robot was better. Stinger had a feeling they were going to win because they were seated #5 and Tornado were only seated #12. However, Tornado now had a trick up its sleeve. Their ramming spike had been replaced by a 2,000 rpm spinning disc? Terrifying! Tornado From: Huntington in Cambridgeshire Weight: 97 kgs Demensions: 0.85M X 0.7M X 0.25M Power: 2 X 750W Motors Weapons: Spinning Disc Strengths: Invertable Weaknesses: Easily Flipped Team: Andrew Marchant - David Gamble - Bryan Moss Stinger From: Lincoln Weight: 82 kgs Demensions: 0.71M X 0.61M X 0.38M Power: 2 X 24V Electric Motors Weapons: Bludgening Spike Strengths: Heavy Duty Weapon Weaknesses: Exposed Tyres Team: Kevin Scott - Tim Mann - Karl Skinner The fight started out with Stinger hitting Tornado a few times with the mace, but not doing much damage. Tornado started pushing Stinger around the arena, flipping them around as they went. Tornado then pushed Stinger into the CPZ, where Dead Metal sawed through Stinger's rubber tire. Stinger escaped, but then Tornado pushed Stinger into the CPZ again, however, they were the ones getting bitten by Dead Metal! Tornado recovered and pushed Stinger into the claws of Killalot! Killalot picked Stinger up by the axle and tried to drop him out of the arena! Stinger fell back into the arena at the last second! Tornado continued pushing Stinger around the arena just as Refbot was counting out the time with his new timer. When the timer reached 10, Cease! was called. Tornado were the winners of the Vengeance battle. Battle 2: Mayhem-3 robots enter the arena, but only one can move on to the annihalator later in the series. House Robots: Sgt. Bash and Matilda (with her new 27 kg Vertical Flywheel) Pussycat From: Gloucester Weight: 97 kgs Demensions: 0.56M X 0.73M X 0.97M Power: 2 X Electric Motors Weapons: Spinning Blade Strengths: Always lands on its feet Weeknesses: Exposed Tyres Team: Alan Gribble - Robert Bettington - David Gribble S.M.I.D.S.Y. From: Cyberspace Weight: 99 kgs Demensions: 1.2M X 0.8M X 0.97M Power: 2 X 24V Industrial Motors Weapons: Jaws, Fangs and Disc Strengths: Multiple Weaponry Weaknesses: Unreliable Team: Mik Reed - Robin Bennett - Andy Pugh Sumpthing Weight: 98 kgs Demensions: 1.4M X 1M X 0.4M Power: 24V Motor Weapons: Crusher, Axe & Lifter Strengths: Multiple Weaponry Weaknesses: Exposed Machanics Team: Dig - Geoff Germainey - Paul Bacon The fight started with the 3 robots ramming each other relentlessly. One hit knocked the chain right off of Sumpthing's new spinning blade. Smidsy pressed a large yellow tire over in the corner. There was a loud siren and the Pit of Oblivion was lowering. Smidsy then rammed Pussycat, but Pussycat's blade was doing some sugnificant damage to Smidsy, whose jaws seemed to be not working. Sumpthing tried to get his ramming spike into work...so he spiked Bash! Bad idea! Matilda seperated the two robots. Suddenly, Pussycat pushed Smidsy down the pit just as time ran out. And just like Smidsy's name, "Sorry Mate I Didn't See You", Smidsy was out. The judges then decided that Pussycat would move on to the Annihalator. After the break, we learn that someone has finally decided to take on Behemoth: Steel Avenger. A pretty good-looking robot. How will they do? Well, after the All-Star qualifiers, we will find out! Battle 3: All Star Tournament-Some of the 4th Wars' best robots come out to compete in a competition to try and win the All-Star trophey at the end of the series. We began with the UK champion Chaos 2 against X-Terminator. House Robots: Shunt and Matilda Chaos 2 From: Branford, Ipswich Seated: #1 and Reinging Champion Weight: 83 kgs Dimensions: 0.9M X 0.71M X 0.38M Power: 24V Electric Motors Weapons: Pneumatic Powered Flipper Strengths: Unbeaten in Competition Weaknesses: Limited Co2 Supply Team: George Francis - Ian Swann - Richard Swann X-Terminator From: Belmont in Heretford Seated: #22 Weight: 99 kgs Dimensions: 0.8M X 0.6M X 0.5M Power: 24V Electric Motor Weapons: Pneumatic Axe Strengths: 37kg Axe & Base Weaknesses: Poor Manoeuverability Team: Marlon Pritchard - Paul Lewis - Simon Baldwin Right at the very start of the match, Chaos 2 flew underneath X-Terminator and flipped them, even despite an ax blow. X-Terminator self-righted, but now Chaos 2's flipper was stuck wide open! X-Terminator then started hammering away at Chaos 2. The unbeaten UK Champion was running scared! They pulled X-Terminator into Shunt, and somebody got axed. It looked as if this was going to be a famous victory for the X-Terminator team, but then Chaos 2 was able to get their flipper closed! Chaos 2 flipped X-Terminator again. X-Terminator was now in a position where they couldn't self-right so Ref-bot counted them out with his new timer. The House Robots came in and Matilda tried to hit X-Terminator with her new disc, but got a little cocky and hit Shunt instead! X-Terminator was righted, but it was no use. Chaos 2 then flipped X-Terminator right onto Matilda's disc! Chaos 2 moves on to the quarter finals. Battle 4: All Star House Robots: Sir Killalot and Matilda Diotoir From: Dublin Seated: #21 Weight: 93 kgs Dimensions: 1.17M X 1.04M X 0.39M Power: 50cc Petrol Engine Weapons: Wedge & Scoop Strengths: Low Ground Clearance Weaknesses: FLAMMABLE! Team: Peter Redmong - Joe Gavin - Cairon Byrne Wheely Big Cheese From: Langport in Somerset Seated: #10 Weight: 99 kgs Dimensions: 1.32M X 0.95M X 0.44M Power: 2 X 24V Motors Weapons: Titanium Flipper Strengths: Self-Righting Mechanism Weaknesses: Exposed Wheels Team: Roger Plant - Jon McGugon - Murray Wharf The fight started out pretty slow. Diotoir rammed WBC and tried to flip him over. But, oh, it was the biggest cheese in the UK. Eventually, WBC flipped Diotoir into the air, ripping off both eyes and knocking out the power link. Killalot then drove out of his CPZ (illegally) and dropped Diotoir onto the flame pit. Refbot then brought out his secret weapon...a yellow card! That's new! Sir Killalot, shocked, drove back into his corner before Ref-Bot counted Diotoir out. After every battle Diotoir would catch fire, but try as they might the House Bots couldn't make him burn! Cease was called and Wheely Big Cheese moves on to the quarter finals. Main Event: The Challenge Belt- This is the fight we've all been waiting for. Can Behemoth defend their title? Their first fight...up aganst The Steel Avenger. House Robots: Sir Killalot and Matilda Behemoth From: Hemelhempstead in Hartfordshire Weight: 95 kgs Dimensions: 1.1M X 0.62M X 0.57M Power: 24V Motor Weapons: Pneumatic Scoop Strengths: Self-Righting Mechanism Weaknesses: Slow and Sluggish Team: Anthony Pritchard - Michael Pritchard - Kane Ashton The Steel Avenger Weight: 100 kgs Dimensions: 1.3M X 0.7M X 0.8M Power: 2 X 750W Industrial Motors Weapons: Pneumatic Axe and Rear Flipper Strengths: Powerful Axe Weaknesses: Inaccuracy of Axe Team: John Willoughby - Jacky Willoughby - Tony Bates This fight started out with the Steel Avenger axing Behemoth, but not doing a great deal of damage. Behemoth then flipped Steel Avenger amd pushed them all around the arena and up against the arena side wall. Behemoth tried to flip SA out, but failed (even though they were so close!!) Behemoth then pushed Steel Avenger into Sir Killalot. Steel Avenger then axed Sir Killalot's eyes out!! But Sir Killalot doesn't need eyes...he does it all by instinct! Sir Killalot leaned over to pick SA up. As he was doing this, Behemoth drove underneath Killalot and tried to flip him. Sir Killalot got really angry. But he couldn't attack Behemoth otherwise he would be yellow-carded again. Killalot then whispered something in Matilda's ear while The Steel Avenger was then flipped once more. He couldn't recover. Ref-bot counted Steel Avenger out. Behemoth still has the belt!moreless
