Robot Wars Extreme: Show 2
AIRED:
Tonight's Main Event was a Mayhem battle featuring 3 awesome robots: Wheely Big Cheese, Hypno-Disc and the now Razer-esque Ming III. However, the robot to look out for is definitely Hypno-Disc. Yes, they did have some problems in the Series 4 Grand Final, but now they're back and better than ever! As the show starts, we see some shocking, horrifying, out of this world scenes of Hypno-Disc absolutely demolishing other robots like Robogeddon, Stealth and Predator. Can anything stop Hypno-Disc? Tag Team Terror: King B3 and 101 defended their Tag Team title last year despite going up against each other after beating Firestorm II and Scorpion. Can they defend their title? House Robots: Sgt. Bash & Shunt Diotoir From: Dublin, Ireland Seated: #21 Weight: 93 kilos Dimensions: 1.17M X 1.04M X 0.39M Power: 50cc Petrol Engine Weapons: Wedge & Scoop Strengths: Low Ground Clearance Weaknesses: FLAMMABLE! Team: Peter Redmong - Joe Gavin - Dr. Zulu Mega Morg From: Swansy Weight: 99 Kilos Dimensions: 1.5M X 0.9M X 0.6M Power: 2 X 12V Motors Weapons: Pneumatic Spikes and Axes Strengths: Self-Righting Ability Weaknesses: Slow and Sluggish Team: Dorian Caudy - Dylan Jenkins - Mark Hooper King B Powerworks From: Hampshire Weight: 88 Kilos Dimensions: 1M X 0.77M X 0.25M Power: 36V DC Motor Weapons: Front Disc & Rear Flipper Strengths: Extremely Powerful Weaknesses: Exposed Tyres Team: Simon Harrison - Grant Hornsby 101 Weight: 97 Kilos Dimensions: 1.2M X 0.75M X 0.3M Power: Electric Motors Weapons: Autonomous Spike Strengths: Agile & Violent Weaknesses: Traction Control Team: Mike Frankin - Amy Franklin - Steve Bickle Diotoir and King B took their places in the CPZ that was showered in blow-up ninja sheep that the Mega Morg team brought into the arena! As the fight began, 101 and Mega Morg colided and 101 buried his spike into Mega Morg's shell. When the spike wasn't doing anything, both teams tagged. King B got under Diotoir and the inflatable sheep fell off of Diotoir's crusher. King B slammed Diotoir into the gaurdrail and Mega Morg lifted King B off of the ground. King B's saw was scratching Diotoir's scoop and eventually one hit from the saw sent one of the sheep flying into the air! Diotoir tried to tag Mega Morg, but Sgt. Bash could not resist setting Diotoir on fire! All four robots started fighting each other and eventually Diotoir was able to flip 101. 101's anttena was not getting any reception. King B was spinning out of control. Cease! was called and the fight went to the judges. The unlikely winners of this fight were Diotoir and Mega Morg. The 101 and King B team were now infuriated. Maybe tagging up against their enemies was a bad idea. Middleweight Melee: These bots aren't as big as the Heavyweights, but they do pack a punch! House Robots: Sgt. Bash and Matilda Typhoon From: Edinbrough Air Cadets in Scotland Weight: 49 Kilos Dimensions: 0.75M X 0.75M X 0.43M Power: 2 X 24V DC Drive Motors Weapons: Circular Steel Pipe Strengths: Rapid Spinning Ability Weaknesses: No Self-Righting Mechanism Team: Flying Officer Peter Bennett - Cadet Gary Cairns - Cadet Hazel Taylor Zap From: Broadheap in Manchester Weight: 42 Kilos Dimensions: 0.84M X 0.70M X 0.26M Power: 2 X 24V Wheelchair Motors Weapons: Flipper Strengths: Sturdy Construction Weaknesses: Poor Manoeuverability Team: Tommy Winkworth - Lindy Robinson - John Lowe Hard Cheese From: Liverpool Weight: 42 Kilos Dimensions: 1.04M X 0.58M X 0.3M Power: 3 X 36V Wheelchair Motors Weapons: Cutting Disc Strengths: Classic Wedge Shape Weaknesses: No Self-Righting Mechanism Team: Nigel Kerr - Stephen Pearson Mammoth From: South Endinsea in Essex Weight: 42 Kilos Dimensions: 1.10M X 0.98M X 0.75M Power: 2 X Battery Drill Motors Weapons: Axe and Rear Saws Strengths: Muliti-Weaponed Weaknesses: Poorly Armoured Team: Ian Burrell Genesis From: Luvland in Denvershire Weight: 49 Kilos Dimensions: 0.8M X 0.7M X 0.32M Power: 2 X 24V Wheelchair Motors Weapons: No Active Weapon Strengths: Tough Construction Weaknesses: Lacking in Power Team: Mark Terbutt - Jeremy Kent - Kieron Day Doom From: Rosendale in Lankashire Weight: 28 Kilos Dimensions: 0.82M X 0.52M X 0.28M Power: 24V Battery Weapons: Pushing Power Strengths: Self-Righting Mechanism Weaknesses: Vulnerable Shell Team: David Smith - Simon Rushton - Gideon Smith Many of the robots in this battle didn't have very effective weapons. Only a few shoves here and there, but then everybody finds out why the Scotish air cadets called their robot Typhoon. It was spinning! Typhoon hit Genesis and Zap, knocking them both out. Then Typhoon hit Mammoth, the walking robot, ripping off one of Mammoth's legs! All in under 1 and a half minutes, all 5 robots were immobilized, leaving Typhoon the only robot standing. After Refbot counted them out, the losers were placed on the floor flipper two by two. First, Genesis, then Mammoth and Zap, then Hard Cheese and Doom. As Doom was flipped, Matilda attacked it with her tail. Cease! was called. Typhoon, a very impressive robot, are now the new Middleweight Champions! How will they do in the Heavyweight competitions? Wild Card Warrior: There's a new bot on the block that goes by the name of Ajjay. He thinks he has what it takes. Well, if he wants to be innitiated into Robot Wars, he will have to pass the test: Take on a veteran to see what he's made of! Stinger From: Branston, Lincoln Weight: 83 kilos Demensions: 0.71M X 0.61M X 0.38M Power: 2 X 24V Electric Motors Weapons: Bludgening Spike Strengths: Heavy Duty Weapon Weaknesses: Exposed Tyres Team: Kevin Scott - Tim Mann - Karl Skinner Ajjay From: Tylehurst in Redding Weight: 100 Kilos Dimensions: 1.1M X 1.1M X 0.25M Power: 12V Motors Weapons: 4 X Flailing Arms Strengths: High Speed Robot Weaknesses: First Time Competitiors Team: John Shepherd - Liam Ryan Stinger hit Ajjay a few times with the mace. Ajjay slammed Stinger into the wall a few times and eventually pressed the new Pit Release Button. Ajjay's weaponry wasn't working. Stinger's was and they were using it quite well. Ajjay's control wasn't great either. They drove over a flame pit and into the clutches of Sir Killalot. Ajjay escaped. Stinger hit Ajjay a few more times, but then it was his turn to get caught by Killalot! Sir Killalot tried to beat the clock and get to the arena wall and throw Stinger out of the arena. But Cease was called at the last second. Sir Killalot dropped Stinger out of the arena anyway. Ajjay did a pretty good job fighting Stinger. Pity about the weaponry. Better watch out for Ajjay in the future though! Vengeance: X-Termintor doesn't like Panic Attack. They had beaten by the UK Champion twice before. Once in Series 3 and again in the Sumo Basho fight with Shunt in Series 4. They think they're better than Panic Attack. Quick! To the warzone! House Robots: Sir Killalot and Dead Metal Panic Attack From: Thornhill Weight: 98 Kilos Dimensions: 1M X 0.7M X 0.16M Power: 24V Motor Weapons: Lifting Forks Strengths: Impenetrable Armour Weaknesses: Reliabilty of Weapon Team: Kim Davis - Michael Davis - Christian Bridge X-Terminator From: Belmont Seated: #22 Weight: 99 kilos Dimensions: 0.8M X 0.6M X 0.5M Power: 24V Electric Motor Weapons: Pneumatic Axe Strengths: 37kg Axe & Base Weaknesses: Poor Manoeuverability Team: Marlon Pritchard - Paul Lewis - Simon Baldwin X-Terminator had attached a spike weapon to the front of their robot. They shouldn't have actually bothered doing that. Panic Attack was able to get under X-Terminator and flip them. X-Terminator couldn't self-right because the spike weapon was preventing them. Panic Attack pressed the Pit Button as X-Terminator was finally able to self-right, but then Panic Attack flipped them again and finally dumped X-Terminator down the Pit. Panic Attack is now 3-0 over X-Terminator, but they will not stop until they have finally beaten Panic Attack! Mayhem: 3 robots enter the arena, only one can move on to the Annihilator. Will Hypno-Disc win it? They've got some tough competition. House Robots: Dead Metal and Shunt Wheely Big Cheese From: Langport in Somerset Weight: 99 kilos Dimensions: 1.32M X 0.95M X 0.44M Power: 2 X 24V Motors Weapons: Titanium Flipper Strengths: Self-Righting Mechanism Weaknesses: Exposed Wheels Team: Roger Plant - Jon McGugon - Murray Wharf Ming III From: Somerset Weight: 100 Kilos Dimensions: 1.33M X 0.77M X 0.8M Power: 2 X 12V Motors Weapons: Crushing Arm Strengths: Powerful Weaponry Weaknesses: Exposed Tyres Team: Andrew Cotterell - Alexander Cotterell - Oliver Cotterell Hypno-Disc From: Middleton Cheney Branney in Oxfordshire Weight: 100 Kilos Dimensions: 0.9M X 0.55M X 0.25M Power: 24 - 36V DC Motors Weapons: Large Rotating Disc Strengths: Destructive Weapon Weaknesses: Vulneurable Wheels Team: Dave Rose - Derek Rose - Ken Rose Wheely Big Cheese tried to get a good flip on Hypno-Disc, but Hypno-Disc was moving way too fast. The Somerset teams both had the same weakness: Exposed tires. Hypno-Disc shreaded Ming's tire, then Wheely Big Cheese's. Both robots were now limping. Titanium was like butter to Hypno-Disc. A few disc blows and there were now crevasses in Wheely Big Cheese's armour. Hypno-Disc then ripped off both of Ming's wheels! Ming and Wheely Big Cheese were destroyed. Refbot counted them out and Ming was thrown through the air by the Floor Flipper. Dead Metal then started sawing through WBC's titanium wheel. Sparks flew everywhere across the arena, putting up a good show! The House Robots then pushed Ming and Wheely Big Cheese into the Pit. The biggest bots on the block weren't very big as they thought! Hypno-Disc is through to the Annihilator!moreless

  • Hypno-disc is so deadly in the war-zone. what surprises me most is that it never goes for the house robots. if it can create dents in WBC's titanium armour, then surely it can batter matildas FIBREGlASS (HA,HA) shellmoreless

There is no other way of putting the Mayem fight in any other way than painful to watch.... for the Ming 3 and WBC team that is!!! Ha! My favourite bit was when hypno-disc ripped off ming 3's wheels Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!!! My favourite line was " Suicidal behaviour by Ming 3 to enter the arena, at all, with the truly awsome hypno-disc
