    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • Stewart Dubois: Look, we lost the lawyer in 206 and the single mom below him.
Yuri: That wasn't my fault. They wanted to get a bigger place... together.

The lawyer in 206 was season 1 tenant Tom Goldblum, played by Mark McKinney, and the single mom below him (presumably in 106) was season 1 tenant Janice Keneally, with her son Henry, played by Megan Follows and Perry Finnbogason, respectively. This provides a nice completion to their story, telling viewers that they did, eventually, get together. However, in the first season episodes, Tom Goldblum lived in apartment #214, and Janice below him in apartment #114.

      • When Yuri finally shows up at Hal and Nick's apartment to fix the toilet, we can see that the apartment door behind him, #201, is marked "Superintendent". This means that Yuri has moved since the first season, as Bobbi Briggs notes in The Tell-Tale Latex that Yuri doesn't live on the second floor.

      • The music used in this episode was:
Wheel of Fortune (1952) by Kay Starr,
These Boots Are Made For Walkin' (1966) by Nancy Sinatra.

    • QUOTES (5)

      • (Hal comes down the stairs as Yuri is duct taping the bannister)
Yuri: Hey, I thought I roped those stairs off up there.
Hal: Well, how are we supposed to get down? Use the fire escape?
Yuri: No, no, don't do that. They're still a little shaky.

      • Driver: There we go, Mr. Vasco. Want me to come in with you?
Vasco: Don't need any help, so piss off... gimp herder!

      • Yuri: What the hell have I ever done to you?
Vasco: Before I came to live here, you tried to charge me a 500-dollar 'holding fee.' And then, six and a half months later, I came back early from a holiday, and I found you in my Lazy-Boy, along with a hooker.
Yuri: ...But what have I done to you lately?

      • Yuri: Here's the scotch I borrowed.
        Vasco: Borrowed?
Yuri: And I got your Dave Keon hockey stick right here.
Vasco: Keep it, it's a fake. Keon hated my guts as much as I hated his. I wonder why I keep on collecting all this crap anyways? I think I'm going to move... to one of those places they build for people like me.
Yuri: Oh yeah? Where's that, like Cootsville?
        Vasco: What?
Yuri: I hear they got a lot of room in Dickering.

      • Stewart Dubois: You're fired!
        Yuri: What for?
Stewart Dubois: For gross incompetence, insubordination. For beating up a paraplegic... take your pick.

    • NOTES (4)

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Yuri (to Toni Tan): You guys act like nothing's going on, and I say one thing and it's all 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Grandma'.

Yuri is making a pun on the 2000 movie title, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
