Rocco Gets Real

Rocco Gets Real is a culinary reality TV series developed by A&E TV that centers on celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito as he works with real, non-celebrity people who are eager but absolutely clueless about all things related to the kitchen. In a combination of the reality and cooking shows, Rocco Gets Real shows an actual situation where Rocco teaches a person or a family how to prepare a meal and ultimately how a home cooked meal, even if it is not as fancy as some restaurants, comes from the heart. Whether if the dinner is for an engagement or a homecoming, a Sunday night family get together or just a typical Tuesday night, Rocco works with his new friends from the supermarket to the final product, giving them advice and support as they learn some culinary skills. Rocco DiSpirito has been a foodie all his life, having started cooking when he was a kid. After studying at the Culinary Institute of America and the Jardin de Cygne in France, he opened his first restaurant in New York in 1990 and his second in 2003. Beyond the restaurants, he has a number of cookbooks and has become a great help to the culinary-challenged all around the United States.
