Rock Me Baby

This episode was probably meant to be aired as promotion to coincide with the release of Tamia's 3rd album "More" (which was released the prior April). The album features the song "Questions," which was heard in the show as her "latest single."

Carl says that he wants to get webcams for himself and Pam - but in "Ca-Pam!," Pam revealed that she already had a webcam (the "Hot Pam Cam... dot org... dot gasm!").

From 1986-87, Carl Anthony Payne played Cockroach on The Cosby Show alongside "Rock Me Baby" guest-star Tempestt Bledsoe. Payne was fired from Cosby (for refusing to cut his hair) and many Cosby jokes have issued from his lips during the course of this series.

Guest stars Adrianne Curry and Janice Dickinson were the stars of "America's Next Top Model," the series that bumped "Rock Me Baby" off the air for several months. Was this their way of saying "thank you for letting us steal your timeslot" or a ruthless ploy to get them back in the same slot to boost this show's ratings? You decide.

A major inside-joke on this episode... Jimmy says to Carl about playing pinball as a teen: "Man, I didn't have to worry about acne or being popular or whether Theo and Cockroach were gonna pass that history test!" Carl Anthony Payne (Carl) played Cockroach on The Cosby Show.

In this episode, we learn that Jimmy, Beth and Otis have the last name "Cox."

The Violent Femmes' song "Blister in the Sun" is briefly heard and they perform "Ring of Fire" live.

The men who provided the voices of Max, the perverted caller, and a fellow DJ working with Jimmy (while he's in the helicopter) are not credited.

Steve & Kelly (Oded Gross & Ken Marino) later resurfaced in "I Love You, You Don't Love Me" and "Go Otis! It's Your Birthday!"

This is the first episode with Tammy Townsend as Pam Gibson, Beth's best friend and next-door-neighbor.

As is generally the case with pilots, the sets in this episode are slightly different than they appear in the rest of the series. It's most noticable in the DJ booth at KHOR.

Some sources listed Jennifer Elise Cox as a star of the show, but the next episode that aired featured Tammy Townsend as Pam, Beth's best friend. Cox's character, Kate, was engaged to Kevin (Lex Medlin), who has stayed with the show. In subsequent episodes he was a bachelor and only mentioned her twice. In "Girl Power," when he reveals that she dumped him, and in another episode he says that she left him at the alter.

Joey Slotnick (Joe Boyle) was originally announced as a star of the series but this is the only episode he appeared in. Patrick Breen later took over Slotnick's position, playing station manager Richard Crandall.

Wouldn't Beth have passed the bachelor party entourage somewhere as she was leaving the building?
