  • Fun to watch and wrong, too.

Very funny and entertaining episode. Rocko and Filburt a couple? That's obviously wrong on all levels. But what really got me was that Filburt took this marriage thing way too seriously, especially where his love interest with Dr. Hutchison was on the line. I was really surprised though; even though the whole joke was to have Filburt and Rocko together for a rouse, Dr, Hutchison felt awkward around Filburt and felt threatened. However, we can't immediately assume that he told her that it was Rocko that he was with. It could be that Filburt left out some details and Dr. Hutchison had the impression that Filburt was out with another woman. Anyway, a very fun-filled episode and very climatic. This is exactly one of these episodes that make Rocko's Modern Life, Rocko's Modern Life.moreless
  • I'm probably the only fan of Rocko and Filburt as a couple really...

This is a review for "Kiss Me, I'm Foreign." I grew up on Rocko, seeing as I was four years old when I started watching it. In the last eleven years, I can now say "Kiss Me, I'm Foreign" is my favorite episode of them all.

Sure, Filburt gets married to the doc later on, right? And he was even with her during this episode. He had to break up with her so he could marry Rocko though, of course. Its just amusing that Heffer practically forced them into a marriage. But their marriage overall was hilarious. Filburt was really into playing the wife, which made me giggle insanely.

This is actually one of two homosexual marriages in the series. The other was when they were reading the fairy tale to Filburt. Rocko married Heffer in that little story and everyone knows fairy tales never happen, right? That thought always makes me happy.

It just made me happy that Filburt and Rocko actually got married. As far as I know, they were never legally divorced. ^_~

EDIT: There were actually three homosexual marriages in the series: Rocko/Filburt, Rocko/Heffer and Ed/Meatball. I just remembered that because I KNEW I forgot one of them! XDmoreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • In Kiss Me, I'm Foreign, the bunny in Rocko's comic store is hit by a wind-up Godzilla toy that falls off the shelf, and then shatters to pieces among hitting the floor. The toy shouldn't have broken like glass when hitting the ground, as usually those toys are made of a rather tough plastic.

    • In the scene where Rocko is shivering and hazily singing the Hut Sut Raw camp song, you notice that he has his regular pink sneakers. But just when him, Heffer and Filburt are running from the rodents, his sneakers turn back to purple.

    • During the fight when Rocko said "I know you mean well," his teeth turn yellow.

    • One of the camper's has a bumper sticker that reads, 'LEAVE MY GUNS ALONE OR I'LL KILL YOU.'

    • In "Kiss Me, I'm Foreign" when the deportation commissioner sticks his head out of the toilet, the seat is up, but when Rocko looks at it the seat is down, then when he looks at the mirror it's back up again.

  • QUOTES (9)

    • Heffer: Back off, man. I saw him first!
Filbert: Don't make me use this, cow! (referring to the knife he's holding)
Rocko: Boys, boys, get a grip! We're friends, remember? And friends don't eat friends! Right Hef? Fil?
(Cut to Heffer and Filbert gnawing on each other)

    • (The three stand in front of a sliding door that opens to reveal hanging vending machines)
      Filbert: Ohhhh.
      Heffer: Ohhhh.
      Rocko: Awwww
      Filbert: Hermetically sealed nourishment!
      Heffer: And food!

    • Rocko: This is where the lightweights camp, sissys, fat tourists and couch potatoes.
Heffer: Great, so we can drop our stuff here?
Rocko: No, we're not any of those things!
Filbert: I think I'm getting a rash from this pack.

    • Ranger: And here we see the mighty Redwood tree.
Tourist 2: Oh, Fred isn't it lovely?
      Tourist 1: Dang!
Ranger: This is a leaf from some kind of tree.
Tourist 1: Hold it, I gotta get a shot of that!
Ranger: And this is an actual rock, they are found in dirt much like the kind around here.
Tourist 2: Imagine! Oh I just love nature!

    • (yelling at each other in an angry tone)
Filbert: All I was trying to do was to be a good wife!
Rocko: Yeah, I know, but you were trying too hard!
Filbert: I know, I got carried away!
Rocko: That's okay, I know you meant well, but if this marriage is going to break up our friendship, I'd rather be deported!
Filbert: Boy Rocko, you really are a good friend!

    • Rocko & Filburt: (answering the door while shouting) What in the HEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeellllo? (realizing the deportation guy is at the door)

    • Rocko: If this marriage is going to break up our friendship, I'd rather be deported!

    • Rocko: I'm legal....again.

    • Heffer: Congratulations on your deportation.
Rocko: You guys are glad i'm leaving?
Heffer: Leaving? Where are you going?
