This was a great episode. I enjoyed watching Manic Mechanic but what really got me thinking that this two part segment was one of my favorite story lines was mostly when I was watching Rocko's Happy Vermin. Ed Bighead has imprisoned millions of insects and they decide to go live with Rocko. Seems like a dull story-line, huh? It could be by the way it sounds to most people but, this episode was great. For the first time, Rocko had to go against what he believes in and "eat" the delicious bugs in order to save them from the Bigheads. Not only that but it turns out that Rocko was a bit out of character in this episode(but in a good way.) He's very naive and a bit hard headed falling for Ed's white lie of taking the bugs to camp. It finally takes him a while, but Rocko soon begins to realize that the camp isn't such a pleasant place (if you know what I mean) when Flecko writes him a message: "he's going to eat us you idiot." I pretty much laughed at that when it took Rocko this long to figure out what was going on. But anyway, this was a great episode for two reasons. First, the episode is more bright and Rocko has more of an innocent character in this episode and second, Flecko was in it. Flecko may not be my favorite, but compare to every other citizen in O-town; I say he's worthy of coming in as a close second (especially for a minor character.) Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading this review.moreless

    • Heffer: (reading the car manual, with a weird thick Eastern European accent) First to be putting car in neutral.
Rocko: You don't need to effect the silly accent.
Heffer: But that's how it's written.
Rocko: Where was this car made?
Heffer: (face contorting with every syllable) Sloo-VAH-ki-AH...

    • Filburt: (wearing a peacock mask and holding a chicken while trying to fix Rocko's car) BOOM-SWAH-TEE-OOSH!

  • NOTES (1)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Visual: Speak, See and Hear No Evil

When Rocko took his car in to have it repaired at the local repair garage and the boss wouldn't repair it and insulted him on the low quality of the car, 3 other monkeys working in the garage laughed with the boss's insults. If you look closely, one of them has their hands covering their eyes. Another is covering his mouth and the third is covering his ears. This is from the ancient philosophical ritual of "Speak, See and Hear No Evil."

    • Visual: Frankenstein

When Filburt tries to fix Rocko's car, the scene changes to black in white, and Filburt can be seen in a white lab coat.
His lines of dialouge are from the film Frankenstein (1931).
