I watched Romeo no Aoi Sora as a child and it left a special mark in my heart. I actually cried watching the series. An almost forgotten eye-opener regarding the situation of child slavery around the globe, it gives the audience a peek to the world of a handful of just of the millions of minors working in extreme conditions without any protection from the government and their society against cruelty. One episode tells how a slave boy narrates how his sibling (also a slave) died after not allowed to eat for a month by their employer. Another is that of Alfredo who died painfully from an ailment he got from working under such harsh environment. However, there is also the story of Romeo who survived the tribulations and managed to acquire a better life afterwards. A must see for child rights advocates, classic novel lovers and those with a soft spot in their hearts.moreless
