  • I couldn't breathe

I think for the entire hour of the episode i only took a few breaths. It hurt me to not know what was going to happen. I mean we knew Sam was gonna get shot. But would he live, die, who else was gonna get hurt? All these questions kept running through my head. Now that it's over and I've had a couple days to recover I can say that I loved it. Now I'm all for Sam and Andy being together but the most heartbreaking parts of the episode were Nick and Marlo. Poor Nick, first he shoots somebody point blank and then has to see his girlfriend run to another man. Then he later tells her to go to the other guy before letting himself almost cry. And Marlo, I couldn't breather or swallow during that locker room scene. I actually think I may have let out a sob but I'm not sure those last few minutes of the episode are a little bit of a blur because of all that emotion in such a small time frame.moreless

    • Andy McNally: (In the ambulance with Sam) Sam? I'm right here.
Sam Swarek: (taking her hand) Okay.
Andy McNally: I'm just gonna talk...or something until we get there because I don't really know what else to do.
      Sam Swarek: Okay.
Andy McNally: Okay, but not you, okay? Save every breath.
      Sam Swarek: Good plan.
Andy McNally: It is, actually. It's an excellent plan. You're gonna lie there and you're gonna listen to me. I'm gonna tell you a story. It was just, you know, a normal night and we were lying in bed. And my stomach was hurting from laughing 'cause you were teasing me about something. I don't remember what. I must have fallen asleep or something because...all of a sudden I was having this - this really terrible dream. And I couldn't stop crying. You know, I was crying and...you weren't even really awake. I remember you - you grabbed me. I remember you were just holding me so tight all of a sudden, you said "I'm right here and I'm gonna hold on to you and I'm never gonna let you go." Right then I knew that I would never feel more loved, (her voice breaks) or more known. Look, I know it's a really small moment, it's...it's not even a good story.
Sam Swarek: That was a pretty good story.
Andy McNally: I love you. I love you. You're my story. Sam, you.

    • Andy McNally: (runs into Sam as he's securing his gun ) What are you doing?
      Sam Swarek: Going home.
Andy McNally: The guy's still out there.
Sam Swarek: (chuckles) Yeah. I know. You should stay here. Frank's right. Best place for 'ya.
Andy McNally: Oh. But not you, right? You're good? You're bulletproof?
      Sam Swarek: No.
Andy McNally: Sam, you can't just leave.
Sam Swarek: Yeah, I can actually. It's the only thing I can do. The only good thing. (He turns around and leaves while Andy runs to catch up with him)
Andy McNally: Hey. Hey! What do you mean? The only thing you can do? How's it a good thing to leave?
Sam Swarek: Everybody's fine. Oliver's okay.
      Andy McNally: Right. So stay.
      Sam Swarek: I can't. I can't. (Comes to a halt and sighs) I can't be here anymore...with you.
      Andy McNally: I - I don't understand.
Sam Swarek: I screwed it up. It's my fault. I screwed it up over and over and over again. Andy I want you to be happy, more than anything in the world, more than anything I could ever want for myself. And you are. With him. And that means...I gotta go.

    • Sam Swarek: (Andy and Sam have to stay at the station and can't go looking for Oliver) What?
Andy McNally: He's out there somewhere. And we can't even leave the station.
Sam Swarek: Okay, we don't need to leave, all right? We need to use our heads. Andy, we work together, we will find him, 'cause that's what we do.
