    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • Roseanne, Jackie, Darlene, D.J., and Dan can all be seen wearing the exact same chicken and egg shirt at different points in this episode. Roseanne wears it in the opening scene while she's snooping through Darlene's room. Jackie is wearing it when she and Roseanne come downstairs. Darlene is seen wearing it when she comes home from work. D.J. has it on when he and Dan are at the kitchen table with George. And finally, Dan wears it in the closing scene.
The only main character in this episode who does NOT wear the shirt is David.

      • D.J.'s first girlfriend is named Sheila Fry.

    • QUOTES (7)

      • Darlene: I tried to leave last week. I packed my bags. I got in my car...
Roseanne: When? When were you in the car? I've been watching you like a hawk.
Darlene: Well, hawks don't generally pass out on the couch after eating a quart of ice cream.

      • Roseanne: (To David who does not want Darlene to leave home) Well you know what they say David, if you really love something you should make it go a way or get rid of it or something.

      • Roseanne: Talking - it's like yelling only not as loud.

      • Dan: You're acting like a crazed psychopath.
Roseanne: The voices in my head disagree.

      • (About getting married)
Dan: I always thought it was the smartest thing I ever did.
Roseanne: I totally agree with you, it was the smartest thing YOU ever did, but we're talking about me now.

      • (Recounting the highlight of what had promised to being a boring party at George's house, D.J. expressed he was glad he went.)
        D.J.: (twice) I touched a boob.

      • (snooping through/"cleaning" Darlene's room)
Jackie: Roseanne, whatever you find, don't get mad at Darlene because you two been snapping at each other lately.
Roseanne: Oh man, is she in trouble. look at this, cigarettes, condoms and here's her bank book, look at that it got a piece of hair on it so she can see if anyone's tampered with it.

    • NOTES (0)

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • An allusion to The Beverly Hillbillies. After hearing D.J. describe his first boy-girl experience, Dan recites Jed Clampett's often-used line about Jethro: "Hoo-wee, Doggie. Some day, I'm going to have to have a long talk with that boy."
