  • Jackie and Roseanne take a road trip to meet their dad's mistress.

    8.2
Jackie and Roseanne find out their dad has a mistress in Kansas City, So they decide to take a little road trip to go see her.(you know, see what she looks like, confront her)

They take Jackie's Rig and reminisce and play stupid pranks on each other. And talk about their relationship with their dad.Jackie is pretty shocked her father would do such a thing - she sees her father as almost perfect and blames the affair mostly on their mom driving their dad crazy.( it kinda explains why Jackie's problem with dating slimy emotionallly unavailable men.)

Roseanne on the hand, doesn't have a very high opinon of her father, and isn't all that suprised he cheated on their mother. She also is certain her mother knew for years and

    should have left years ago...

Meanwhile Becky is working as cashier at a grocery store and has a boss who verbally insults her with a certian nasty 4 letter word on a regular basis in front of other co-workers.

Becky deals with it by going in her room and crying. She is ready to quit.Darlene tells Mark and dan, and they go down to talk to becky's boss, and Mark punches him, after that Becky doesn't becky boss leaves her alone. Dan is starting to realize Mark is a decent guy and really cares about his daughter. I like that they show that Mark has a good heart and is not just an idiot.Becky finds out what happened and is mad and embarrased.(personally, I had a boss like that, and would have loved it if someone would have went down there and punched him a few times and taught him a little lesson. But that is just me.)

Roseanne and Jackie finaly get there, knock on the door and meet her, she's not at all like they expected. Her name is Joanne and she's very well-groomed and polite, she invites them in, Roseanne wants to go in, Jackie really wants to leave - meeting the other woman was emotionally draining enough for one day.

They leave and realize, their dad met someone very nice and sane, unlike their creepy mother bev....

This episode won an emmy I think and it was well deserved.

It developed Mark in a good way, and showed more of how Jackie and Roseanne's relationship with their dad effected their adult lives and it kinda sorta explains Bev.

  • Rosey and Jackie meet dad's other woman, and Becky is insulted by her boss.

This was an excellent episode of Roseanne, and I've personally seen it many times. Roseanne and Jackie meet their father's mistress in Kansas City. Roseanne was open to coming into her apartment to chat, while Jackie was hesitant. This reveals the level of relationship each of the sisters had with their dad (Jackie-loving, open to forgive his past abuse, Roseanne-polite towards him, cannot forget how he hurt her, both physically and emotionally).

On the flip side, Becky is called a "bad word" by her boss at the Buy-N-Bag, and the men in her life-Mark and Dan-defend her honor. How sweet it must be to have so many people love you! I think Dan realizes that maybe-just MAYBE-Mark isn't such a bad influence on her afterall!moreless
