Darlene Conner Healy
Rebecca "Becky" Conner Healy
David Jacob "D.J." Conner
In this second episode of the eight season, Roseanne, Jackie, and Becky are wearing the same clothes they are seen wearing in the show introduction used for the eighth season.
When the family is veiwing DJ's photography project. David points out the image in the book of Dan sitting in front of the TV with a cold beer in his hand. The family realizes that is exactly what Dan is doing at that very moment. In this take, notice Dan's beer is resting by his right leg. In the very next take, the beer and Dan's arm has changed positions and now rests on the right arm chair. In the next shot, he's holding the beer in his left hand.
(Jackie has gone over a lengthy list regarding Andy's care. As Roseanne's babysitting, Roseanne dips a carrot stick in chocolate syrup and hands it to Andy.)
Roseanne: Well it doesn't say anything about fondue.
Dan: What boy wouldn't want to learn what his dad's all about?
Roseanne: I don't know. little "Skippy" Hitler
(Roseanne is going to babysit Andy. Jackie is going over a list explaining Andy's care.)
Jackie: You can see I've divided things into 3 categories: food, sleep, and recreation.
Roseanne: Jackie. Food and sleep are recreation.
Jackie: Roseanne, my child has Oreo breath.
Roseanne: Relax, that's just because we were drinking an Oreo-flavored liqueur.
Jackie: (to Roseanne about Andy) Ah, it he wakes up early and ya want him to go back to sleep, then you can either say, um, "Moomy wuvs Boo Boo", or you say, "Boo Boo ticky ticky ticky".
Jackie: (apologizing to Darlene and Becky for insulting them) I didn't mean to hurt you; I meant to hurt your mom.
Darlene: Well, yah, but you've taken something beautiful, like hurting our mom, and turned it into something ugly.
DJ: (about Dan's pin-up calendar at the city garage) Hey, that lady on that calendar is naked!
Dan: (putting his hands to DJ's head like blinders) You can't blame her, DJ, August is the hottest month.
Jackie: I am willing to admit, I have got a lot to learn about being a mother, but, so do you!
Roseanne: I HAD a lot to learn and I learned it, and now, I'm done!
Rosanne: Calm down, Jackie, I used to do stuff like that 'n give my kids cookies all the time.
Jackie: Maybe that's the reason your kids turned out the way they did.
Rosanne: What the hell's wrong with my kids?
Jackie:(Busily bundling up her infant child) Nothing, if you're trying to reverse the process of evolution.
Roseanne: Well, if that's the way you feel about it maybe you jus' shouldn't bring your kid around here any more.
Jackie:(Rolling Andy out the back door in his stroller) W' maybe that's just fine with me - maybe I don't want my kid turning out the way yours did. Look at 'em - smartass high school drop-out; trailer trash; dark clothes wearing; boyfrinds in the basement; too soon sex-doing; four-letter-wording; hoodlum Oreo eaters, that's what you are, the whole family! The whole lotta ya,
Oreo eaters - and (Pointing straight at Roseanne) YOU, YOU are the Orie-Ohiest!
Bev: (when Roseanne makes a cutting remark about her) That doesn't bother me, Dear, those are just your pregnancy hormones talking.
Roseanne: My hormones actually want to kill you, Mom. They're out in the front yard right now, looking for a big stick!
Dan: (to Mark who's laying on his stomach on a creeper rolling backwards and sprinkling something on the floor) Mark, what are you doing?
Mark: I'm making a sugar trail for the ants, and they're going for it, those stupid bastards!
Darlene: (looking at DJ's photo album) Geez DJ, it's really rude to take a picture of someone's butt! Oh, I'm sorry, that's Becky's face.
Roseanne: (to Jackie who's left Andy sleeping in the car) Yeah, we used to go for drives when our kids couldn't sleep, too. Course, we never wrecked it by bringing them with us.
Jackie: (ranting about Roseanne's babysitting practices) How would you feel if you left instructions for the care of your child and somebody just ignored them?
Roseanne: Well, if I had never raised a kid, and left him with somebody who raised three, I'd feel pretty damn good about it.
Jackie: Well, somehow, I don't.
Roseanne: Hey, you're getting him back alive, and that wasn't even on your list!
Jackie: (about Andy) You gave him Oreos? Roseanne, what about my list? I specifically asked you not to feed him any junk food.
Roseanne: Hey, you can spit and swear, you can even take the Lord's name in vain, but you will not come into my house and refer to Oreos as junk food!
Roseanne: (as Jackie enters the kitchen) Choppers, Radar?
On M*A*S*H, the 4077's company clerk, Corporal Walter "Radar" O'Reilly, would alert people to approaching helicopters before anyone else could hear them. Radar had very good intuition and could predict things before they happened, hence his nickname.
Roseanne: (to Dan, struggling with how to have a closer relationship with DJ) Do I have to put on a Harry Chapin album for ya, Dan?
Roseanne is making an allusion to singer/song writer, Harry Chapin, and his song, "Cat's in the Cradle", told in the first person, that of a father who is too busy to spend time with his son.
Dan: (deciding to spend more time with DJ) I mean, what boy wouldn't want to learn what his dad is all about?
Roseanne: I dunno, little Skippy Hitler?
Roseanne is making an allusion to Adolph Hitler, the 1930's leader of Germany and the Nazi Party whose ambitions and racial policies culminated in the killing of approximately 11 million people, including the genocide of some 6 million Jews in what is now known as the Holocaust.
Bev: (bringing Roseanne a bowl of ice cream) Ding! Ding! Ding! It's the "Good Humor" woman!
Bev is making an allusion to "Good Humor", a brand of ice cream once sold from trucks with bells to announce their presence.
The episode title is an allusion to the Quote by Marie Antoinette "Let Them Eat Cake!"
