Roseanne does not appear in the majority of this episode. She only appears in the coda of this episode explaining why she wasn't in that evening's episode and telling her version of where babies come from.
Dan: (sitting with baby Andy on the couch) Are you doing what I think you're doing? (wrinkles up his nose and inhales) Oh yes, you ARE!...Here. Here's a little something to read (hands him a magazine).
Dan: Aw, Fred, look, a couple's spending time apart is critical for marriage. If Roseanne didn't go on these periodic trips (pauses) I'd only have death to look forward to.
Jackie: (about Fred who's just sulked out to the car) He hates it when we fight before dinner.
Dan: Around here, we call that grace.
David: (leaving Mark and following Dan into the kitchen) Mr. Conner, do you still want to talk anymore about your friend's problem?
Dan: No, thanks.
David: It's okay, Mark won't come in-- he just heard a firetruck.
Dan: Marriage is not a game, Fred. A game is something that's fun and you can win. Marriage is a blood sport.
Mark: (watching TV) Ya know, I don't get why the weather man puts up a sun with a big smiley face on it... I mean, just because it's sunny doesn't mean you're going to be happy.
Dan: (finding out that Jackie is with a man other than Fred) You gotta tell Fred about this or he'll pick it up on the streets.
Jackie: How's that going to happen?
Dan: I will stand in the street and yell it at your house.
Dan: I'm always complementing that Fred at work, but does he ever give me a hug? N-O.
Jackie: (When Stacy wants her to go to a night club with her) Did Lee Iacocca go gallivanting around with his mechanics? I DON'T THINK SO!!!
Jackie is making an allusion to American industrialist and former chairman of Chrysler Corporation, Lee Iacocca.
Dan: (after seeing Jackie being friendly with another guy at the Lobo) You swear to me that there's nothing going on between you and this guy?
Jackie: Cross my legs and hope to die!
Jackie is making an allusion to the old, childhood adage, "Cross my heart and hope to die".
