  • Fred gets annoyed with DJ coming over to their house constantly, but Jackie takes the blame when she tells Roseanne, sparking a huge fight between the sisters.

    9.0
This episode was almost like a flashback to the early years, in a good way. The characters seemed a little regressed: DJ acting very strange, more like he was in the first 3 seasons; Jackie and Roseanne discussing their dependent relationship; and Becky and Darlene viciously throwing insults back and forth. Although these character traits are familiar, the situations are not, which was refreshing.

DJ was real weird in this one, but it was usually pretty funny (especially the scene during the credits.) Although his reasons for going to Jackie and Fred's house are unclear at first, his intentions are good-- trying to fill the big brother role for Andy. The living room scene with Roseanne and Dan finding this out was entertaining.

The scenes with Darlene were great, and really showed some growth in her character, with her trying to be there for others for once. The scene with her and Jackie at the Lunch Box was another good one.

Nothing really especially hilarious in this one, but it does have quite a few laugh-out-loud moments, and it's an entertaining episode that focuses more on the kids then on things outside of the Conner household, something not common in the later seasons. Check this one out when you can, definitely worth seeing.moreless

    • Dan: Darlene, I got some great news. Nana Mary isn't dead.
      Darlene: What?
Dan: Yeah, I lied so you'd come home for your mother's birthday. Isn't that great?!

    • Dan: When I was talking to Darlene about coming home for your Mom's birthday, she was crying.
Becky: Crying? Like... what kind of crying?
Dan: Well, remember when she was twelve and we told her that she wasn't adopted? It was like that.
      Becky: Oh, God.

    • (Fred doesn't feel like going out that night)
Roseanne: I'll just go home and spend some quality time with my husband. Though I'm not sure our marriage can take it.

    • Roseanne: You two are gonna be loving sisters like me and Jackie!
Darlene: Okay. (to Becky) I'll sleep with every guy in town and you gain like 400 pounds.

    • Becky: Nice hair.
      Darlene: Nice life.
      Becky: Go to hell.
      Darlene: Go to the mall.

    • Dan (to DJ): Eating cardboard could ruin your life. You could end up on the street living in a box. Then you'll eat the box and you'll be homeless.
