This episode is very good, and could really happen in a real life situation. David a scorned ex shows just what measures a guy will take to keep a girl in his life, even if it means ruining her future. Roseanne is a perfect example of a lied to mother, while Dan continues to be a trusting parent and believes keeping her from school will make her turn to drugs. I believe Roseanne truely wants Darlene to be with David and this is why she continues to try and keep her home from returning to school. Jackie is a supporting role who believes Darlene should return to school. In the end, Darlene is allowed to return to school and David is a torn lover.moreless

    • (Roseanne is trying to get Dan to talk to an upset David)
Dan: I don't wanna go in there, he'll just start crying all over me again.
Roseanne: That's too bad, youv'e been drafted.
Dan: I'm putting on a dress and going to Canada, just like last time.

    • Dan: What are you gonna do quit your job and put her in a box so you can watch her (Darlene) all day?
Roseanne: No Dan I'm gonna put her on top of the television so YOU can watch her all day.

    • DJ: I bet you're high now? Does my face look distorted?
Darlene: Yes, which just proves that I'm not.

    • (to Darlene about her drug use)
Roseanne:There are better ways to aggravate us than by frying your brain cells. Look at Becky: she never did drugs. She married Mark.

    • (Darlene and Dan discuss her drug use)
Darlene: Oh, come on, Dad, do you really think what I did was that bad?

      Dan: Yes.
Darlene: Give me a break. You grew up in the '60s, I've seen the photo album. I mean those clothes had to have some pharmaceutical explanation.

    • David: For what it's worth I'm sorry.
Darlene: I'm sorry too. Sorry I didn't dump your sorry ass a long time ago.

    • Darlene: Hey dad, want to try some horse? The game, I mean.

    • Roseanne: You did acid?
Darlene: Just a couple of times, I tried it and I didn't like it, okay?
Roseanne: No it is not okay! What? You didn't like it so you did it again?
Darlene: Well the first time I tried it I was in convulsions so I couldn't tell if I liked it or not.
