Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

  • QUOTES (11)

    • Roseanne: (To Dan) What'd you get us for later? (Dan shows her a video and they both giggle heavily) That's perfect!

    • Roseanne: (After walking in on the girls talking about kissing and Becky introducing Darlene to what french kissing is, and talking to the girls about kissing and boys... as Roseanne kisses Becky goodnight) Keep your mouth closed.

    • Roseanne: (to Becky) You can't take her to that party. There'll be boys there.
Darlene: There are boys at school and you let me go there.

    • Dan: You wanna come with us to the video store?
      Roseanne: Na.
D.J.: Mom, we're getting Star Wars.
Roseanne: Oh really? No, I'll stay here incase Jackie comes by but may the force be with you.
Dan: Hell, you ARE the force.

    • Darlene: Let's rent Lethal Weapon 2, Jaws 3 and Nightmare on Elm Street 4.
Roseanne: Yeah? Well you better go wash your hands for dinner or I'll make you watch Dr. Zee-vago again.

    • Becky: When you first went out with Daddy, did you want to kiss him all the time?
Roseanne: Well, somebody had to do it. An' you know me, 'work, work, work.'
Becky: When did you know that you wanted to spend the rest of your life with him?
Roseanne: Oh well, I ain't decided that yet. We're just gonna raise you kids, ya know, and then if we still like kissin' each other then we'll decide.

    • Dan: (to Roseanne who is struggling with Empty Nest Syndrome) It's too bad that you can't accept the fact that people have to live their own lives. Just because a bird leaves the nest doesn't mean it's gonna get creamed by the Concord.

    • Roseanne: (to Darlene) Did you guys have fun?
Darlene: It was ok. Becky spent the whole night sucking face with some guy...good night.
Dan: Guess Darlene didn't get any.

    • Roseanne: I hate my boss! I hope he never graduates high school.

    • (Talking about kissing)
Becky: Then you open your mouth a little bit.
Darlene: You open your mouth!?! For what?!
      (Roseanne walks in)
Roseanne: So you can slip him the tongue.

    • DJ: I can't work this damn thing.
Roseanne: Where'd you get that language. This isn't a thing it's a VCR.

  • NOTES (1)

    • As Becky and Darlene get ready to go to a party attended by Becky's friends she shows Darlene some ways to finish her hair so it will look good. Two episodes earlier, in "Guilt By Disassociation," Jackie shows Roseanne the same funny hair tips.

    • The title of this episode is an allusion to the song, "Somebody Stole My Gal" (1931), composed by Leo Wood and made popular by Cab Calloway and His Orchestra.

    • Roseanne: (to Darlene who just rattled off all the videos she wants to watch on Jackie's VCR) Yeah? Well, you better go wash your hands, or I'm gonna make you watch Dr. Zee-vago again!

Roseanne is making an allusion to the 1965 movie, Dr. Zhivago, starring Omar Sharif and Julie Christie.
