Roseanne advises the trucker that she's arguing with that he's going to lose his lane in ten feet. Even at the ridiculously slow 25 miles per hour, they would travel ten feet in one-half of a second - less time than it took Roseanne to warn him.
Roseanne: You know who was good, Janis.
Jackie: Oh yes, you know, I too discovered the truth at 17.
Roseanne: Not Janis Ian you idiot! Janis Joplin!
Jackie: Want me to take our picture? It'll be just like Thelma and Louise.
Roseanne: Well people have told me I look like Geena Davis, and you look exactly like Harvey Keitel.
Roseanne: (to the truck driver) HEY! HEY! So what, it's only the most perfectly shaped women for you, you big hairy, toothless, sweaty, cross-eyed HOOOOG!
(Roseanne and Jackie crack up)
Driver: HEY! HEY! HEY, SHOW ME YOUR BOOBS!
Jackie: (laughing) What's he doing?
Roseanne: He's flippin' us off back! Man, he's---WOMEN RULE, DIRTBAAAG!
(Jerry makes a noise; Jackie swears a number of times)
Driver: HEY! There's a motel at the next exit!
Roseanne: KISS MY FAT CHICK *****!
Driver: If you can get your fat ***** out of the car!
Roseanne: Say, stupid, your lane ends in 10 feet!
Driver: I'll show you 10 feet!
(Roseanne is suddenly shocked when he clips the pole as she looks on; Jackie sees it in the rearview mirror)
Roseanne: Oh, my---oh my god, he clipped the utility pole.
Jackie: (in a panic) Well, uh, do-do we stop and exchange names and numbers?
Roseanne: (also in a panic) This is no time to try to get a date, Jackie! FLOOR IT!!!
Jackie: I can't believe we ran that trucker off the road.
Roseanne: Cheese it, it's the cops.
Jackie: Oh my god, how do you think they found us so fast?
Roseanne: I don't know, but if we would've called 'em, we'd still have another half hour to play with.
(discussing song lyrics from their childhood)
Roseanne: Remember "Baby Baby Don't get hooked on Me? I'll just use you then I'll set you free?" - Use me and I'll set you on FIRE you bastard!
Roseanne (to Jackie): Remember "Take a Letter, Maria?"
Jackie: Oh... I love that song...
Roseanne: You do not love that, Jackie. Ever listen to those words? It's about this guy who screws up his secretary, and she still has to take his stinkin' letters to his wife! She's getting screwed twice!
Roseanne: Remember the song "Run for your life"? He said he'd rather see her dead, than to be with another guy. That's all them wifebeaters need is an anthem.
When Roseanne says to Jackie, "I'll put these on and we will look like Thelma and Louise, but I look like Geena Davis and you look like Harvey Keitel," she alludes to the 1991 movie Thelma And Louise, where a housewife and a waitress shoot a rapist and drive off. The moved stars Geena Davis, Susan Sarandon, and Harvey Keitel.
The title of this episode is an allusion to the 1972 movie, The Getaway, starring Steve McQueen and Ali MacGraw.
In a deprecating allusion to real life, Roseanne commends Officer Thomas for getting up early to fight gangs, thugs and other low-lifes. Officer Thomas then replies to Roseanne, his real life wife, "That's nothing compared to having to go home to my wife every night."
