  • The absolute best episode of the ninth season. It is so touching, i got a tear to come out.

    10
This episode was was so well-written, that it even made me spark a couple tears. The ONLY episode that i thought was better in the whole series was "Lobocop" in season 2 which was when Roseanne and Dan's romance suffers. But that episode was not much better than this episode. This episode was so well-written and well-played that even my mom even sparked a tear, and she is kind of hard to get to cry. Just the way the actors acted and the way the writers wrote it just made it a very very very very very... good episode. You have GOT to watch it, but to really get this one you would have to watch the episode right before it, "A Second Chance." So i advise you watch that one first though.moreless

shows the true love between david and darlene.

i loved this episode the miracle. The miracle i thought was a great title.I thought this was the best episode out of this season.I think everyone can agree that the 9th season had some very very very bad episodes.but there was some good episodes too.i think the 2 saddest parts are when dan and david talk in the hallway and when darlene, roseanne, jackie, becky, and bev are holding the baby and telling it to please not die and then darlene starts crying.i also love the moments between david and darlene. This was such a great episode! One of the best in roseanne history!moreless
  • Well done episode. Definitely pulls at the heart strings.

One of my favorite episodes. Yes roseanne is a little loopy with all of her alternative medicine, and she sounds flaky when she's explaining it, but hey she's right. Sometimes all you need is a little love and human contact. This was definitely one of the most touching episodes, and it was so sweet to see everyone huddling around the baby and caring for it. I loved them all talking to it and telling the baby how strong she is. I especially loved Jackie's speech. That was sweet. this entire episode was just definitely worth watching. I think everyone should see this episode. A must see for everyone.moreless
  • Perfect example that love contours all. Very touching episode.

i love this episode. I love that the Conners realize that money cannot buy everything that their is always a time in life where you have to put your heart on the line and trust in God and the people around you. In the Conners realizing this their family becomes more closer and realizes that family is all they have in the end. I love the ending when the baby does survive. Great Great Great!!!moreless
  • Touching episode that has Darlene in the hospital giving birth to a baby that is 2 months early.

    9.5
When Darlene is rushed to the hospital at the end of the previous episode, we find out that she is having contractions, and they are trying different drugs on her to try and stop them. They all seem to work for a few hours, but then they quit and she begins having them again.

The entire family is scared because there is a good chance that the baby will die since it is too premature. The birth goes okay, but the baby is hooked up to machines that are helping it breathe, and survive.

Lots of great acting in this episode, this is the most down-to-earth you will ever see Darlene, and the scene between Dan and David is very powerful, and had my eyes watering (not a common thing with sitcoms, this is the only episode besides Crime and Punishment that moved me so much.)

There's not a lot of laughs in this one, but the Conners are able to keep their sense of humor throughout most of the bad times. This is probably the best episode in the last season.moreless

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • Darlene tells David in the episode Another Mouth to Shut Up that they got pregnant at Disney World after the fireworks. The episode, Disney World War II originally aired February 27th, 1996. This episode aired February 25, 1997. Darlene has technically been pregnant for almost a year. Additionally it's said, the baby was born about 2 months early, which would have been 7 months.

    • At the end of the episode, we are shown shots of Harris recovering and living with a version of the song Blackbird by the Beatles playing in the background. The song is not on the DVD.

    • Darlene says that she's never smoked or drank, and only used drugs once. But she first smoked in "Bridge Over Troubled Sonny", and then she picked up smoking again when she was living with Jimmy. Also, when it was revealed Darlene had tried drugs, she had done it more than once since she admitted to using acid twice as an example.

  • QUOTES (10)

    • Becky: I really have a bad feeling about this.
Bev: Don't talk that way Becky. As Louise Hays says, you must learn to turn the negative into a positive.
Roseanne: Yeah, you should listen to your Grandma Becky. Apparently being gay means more than wanting to wear flannel shirts and Birkenstocks. It also makes you smarter.

    • Jackie: (to the baby) I remember when I was about 5 and we were riding in the car, and I was leaning up against the door, and suddenly the door just flew open, and I was falling out of the car...I remember because I could see the road rushing right below me, so I was literally outside of the car...and out of nowhere, Mom reached over and pulled me back in by my hair...and, if you ever feeling like you're falling away, you don't have to worry because we'll be right there to pull you right back in.

    • Bev: (to the baby) Oh, you've got quite a grip...I think you're a lot stronger than you're letting on.

    • Jackie: There's 12 doctors on the list and we've called ten.
Roseanne: Well maybe, then it's time we tried an alternative.
      Jackie: What, like...acupuncture?
Roseanne: Well yeah, or an herbalist or a natural healer...western medicine don't know everything, and there are countries where they do that stuff...like I read that in India, they take sick people down and bathe them in holy water.
Jackie: No, you're making that up, that stuff doesn't work.
Roseanne: Yes it does work, Jackie, I read it in all of Nancy's books and they all said the same thing, it works because they believe it's going to work.

    • (2 nurses watching all the Conner women huddled around the new baby)
      Nurse 1: What's going on?
Nurse 2: I'm not sure, it looks like some sort of coven.

    • Darlene: If there's nothing physically wrong with me and I didn't do anything morally wrong, then nothing makes sense. What did I do to deserve this? Why was my baby born prematurely?
David: You didn't do anything to deserve this, you don't deserve this...our baby doesn't deserve it. It just happens.

    • Darlene: I don't know why this is happening. I never smoke or drank and I only did drugs once.
David: And that was a long time ago.
Darlene: Maybe I ate the wrong stuff...
David: You're a vegetarian, you're the healthiest eater I know.
Darlene: Well if it's nothing physical, then I must have done something wrong and now I'm being punished.

    • Roseanne: The doctors are still examining her.
Mark: How long does it take to examine a baby? She's only this size...sorry.

    • Roseanne: We are not bodies with souls. We are souls with bodies.

    • (Darlene is about to have her baby)
David: So, is there anything we wanted to do before becoming parents?
Darlene: Well, we were going to go to Paris.
David: (smiles) I think we're gonna be late for the flight.
Darlene: (chuckles) I'll settle for a cheese omlette then.
