  • TRIVIA (1)

    • While cleaning out the garage, Darlene finds her old hamster. She will find it again three years later when she moves out of her room in Happy Trailers.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • (Discussing Darlene's trip to Chicago)
Jackie: Darlene says what she did was important.
Roseanne: She said the same thing when she shaved DJ's head.

    • (Roseanne climbs through the window into their old bedroom)
Jackie: Sssh! You'll wake up Mom and Dad. You were supposed to be home by eleven.
Roseanne: Well, after the party, me and Dan snuck over to his house and we had three kids. Don't tell Mom!

    • Roseanne: (sorting through the mail) Look at that-- the final notice from my health insurance company...Well, good. I was sick of hearing from 'em.

    • Roseeanne: Let's face it Jackie. Our family was screwed up. Maybe that's why I got fat, and you can't have a decent relationship with any man.
Jackie: Or, maybe I just never found the right man, and you never found the wrong doughnut.

    • (Scolding Darlene for a snotty comment)
      Becky: You are so immature.
(Wondering if Mark is out on a date, Becky then picks up the phone, dials a number, and instantly hangs up.)
      Becky: Good, he's home!

    • (Pressing Dan for info on whether or not Mark might be going on a date after work)
Becky: Well, did he smell nice?
Dan: I don't know. I try not to sniff the help.

    • Roseanne: What are you doing upstairs with some boy?
Darlene: Well, no one was home. So I figured - Why not become a woman?

  • NOTES (2)

  • ALLUSIONS (3)

    • Jackie: (sitting on the floor of their old house, next to the vent, with Roseanne) But, y-you remember the week we took turns listening at the vent to see if they (their parents) found out about Bloomington?
      Roseanne: Oh, that frat party?
Jackie: We were too mature for high school guys.
Roseanne: So, we ended up with these future doctors and lawyers playing Up Up and Away on their armpits.

Roseanne is making an allusion to the song, Up Up and Away, by the 5th Dimension.

    • The title of this episode is an allusion to This Old House, the home improvement and remodeling series on PBS.

    • An allusion to Winnie the Pooh stuck in Rabbit's doorway, where he had to remain until he lost enough weight to fit through. As Jackie and Roseanne try to break into their old house through an upstairs window, Roseanne gets stuck momentarily. Before lending a hand, Jackie alluded to this Winnie the Pooh episode.
