A Simple Plot
AIRED:
Rosemary and Laura travel across the country to help Rosemary's old friend Professor Mullins, who is blind. He has asked them to look into the death of patches of plants on his allotment. The gardeners go with the professor to an allotment committee meeting to discuss the strange goings-on, but they hear that the allotments are about to be sold to a building firm. The professor forces a vote on the sale of the land and it is voted down, to the disappointment of the builder, Kelly and the land's owner Hugo Dainty. Back at the allotments the next day, Rosemary and Laura find the dead body of Professor Mullins in a hole near his allotment.moreless

  • I really enjoy Rosemary and Thyme, but I hate to see which character I like being bumped off.

I really enjoy Rosemary and Thyme, but I hate to see which character I like being bumped off. Once again a thoroughly decent character, the professor, is the one who is killed. I would like to see the writers decide to kill off a more disagreeable character. This was a good mystery with interesting characters. I like how Rosemary and Thyme's writers include dogs on occasion, as they did in this show. Tiberius, the professor's black lab, was another wonderful character. The professor is marvelously played by the actor Frederick Treves. The way that the murderer tries to kill Rosemary is imaginative and different. I recommend this episode.moreless
