I really loved this episode; it was probably the best in the whole TV series (although Four Square was also very good). I always loved the Dreamers (Max and Liz), and I was very happy about them saying out loud they love each other. I also liked the ending, when, after activating the Orbs, somebody we don't know yet picks up the signal and passes it on. It was sad Liz left, but she thought she was doing it for the greater good. It made me sad, but the music (the opening theme, actually) fitted in perfectly. And I loved the scene when all the aliens were standing on a cliff and asking Max smth like: "Where do we go from here?"moreless
  • Season one finale, where the destiny's of Max, Isabel, Michael and Tess are revealed.

    9.0
I actually thought this was a really great season finale. I had everything that you could want in an episode, especially in one that ends the season- drama, action and of course, love. I think that one of the interesting things that came out from this episode was that one of the original three aliens, Michael, killed a human. Though there were extenuating circumstances, it threw another dimension to the show- up until that point, the aliens had really only used there powers for 'good', and then suddenly its made very real to them that they also have the power to cause serious harm to others. However, while the action part of this episode was great, and the revelation about who Max, Isabel, Michael and Tess really are, the part that stood out for me was Max and Liz's conversation while they were hiding out. I think it was one of the sweetest things that Max has said to Liz, and it was delivered perfectly. One of my favourite moments between the two of them, and made the ending of the episode/season so much more sad when Liz leaves Max because its his destiny. Great way to end a season.moreless
  • One of the best finales ever!!! ;)

Ok, this episode was just amazing! I absolutely loved it, I loved everything about it. Our dear alien friends finally took a stand against the FBI and it was really nice battle. I liked all the scenes with Sheriff Valenti, I loved the way he evolved during the season. And the last five minutes were just WOW! I almost stopped breathing, while I was watching them. The whole "You have a destiny" thing was really surprising, I didn't expect the things to go in that direction. And the moment when Liz is leaving Max is just amazing and the music really helps for that effect. "Here With Me" by Dido is the main theme of Roswell and it really fits the series and absolutely fits that scene. And then the season ended with a big cliffhanger, I really have high expectations for season two. :)moreless
  • Amazing...!The final of first season!

    9.7
It´s for real a very special episode...because all emotions are very intense...!For the start, Liz and Max made promises for their destiny and of course the first "-I LOVE YOU!"!Then the xerife knows the true and stays in their side...next Michael reveals his true love for Maria and because of his love and to not hurt her he break up with her...very beautiful. Then Max saves the life of Kyle and finally, Isabel and max knows their mother and the four knows the real trued of their life's...there are royalty from another planet and they have to save their planet...it's great, i just love this...but the best of all is Liz go away from Max's life just because the destiny of Max is stay with Tess! I think it's a very special episode...everything goes back in their life's and now they have to started all over again!moreless
  • The best episode in season 1

    9.6
This was the best episode in Season 1 and made me look forward to the next season. It was so interesting when they revealed secrets about themselves. And when Max and Isabel saw their real mum for the first time. And also when they found out who they destimed with. Although this i felt really sorry for Liz because she was then convinced that she wasn't meant to be with Max and that she had go away from him. Although Max's & Tess's pair didn't match, I really wanted for Michael and Isabel to be together as they suited each other so much. This episode was one of the reasons why Roswell still remains my personal favourite.moreless

  • TRIVIA (11)

    • When Max, Michael, Isabel, and Tess go to recover Nasedo's body and Isabel hits one of the agents, the sounds that are heard don't match her actions.

    • The agent chasing Liz and Max at the bridge in the beginning abruptly switches from the left lane to the right.

    • Throughout the scene where Max interrogates Pierce, the projector changes slides at irregular intervals with no one touching it.

    • At the end of the episode, Michael suddenly appears next to Max without any footsteps on the gravel like Max's and Liz's.

    • When Max and Liz climb out of the river at the beginning, they walk through one of two large drainage pipes next to each other. There is only one pipe on the other side.

    • When Valenti and Michael see Max and Liz running from the red jeep and the camera angle changes to inside Valenti's car, the car isn't moving - the ground in front can be seen to be stationary. In the next shot it shows Valenti's car just slowing down to stop.

    • Nasedo assumes the form of Pierce, yet it was already established the special unit has sensors capable of detecting Nasedo's different bone structure.

    • Pierce seems to be in pretty good shape for someone who was shot 6" from his heart.

    • After Max and Liz jump into the water 2 of the men hunting them run to the edge of the bridge and look down, but there is no change in the water's movement. Wouldn't their impact have made some kind of change in the water's surface?

    • When Kyle was shot and Max healed him, there was no trace of blood, just the hole in his tee-shirt. When he healed Liz there was blood still on her body and clothing. Also Max ripped open Liz's shirt to see the wound, but he did not for Kyle.

    • Liz and Max jump off a high bridge into the water below but when they later come out of the river, their hair is not even a little wet.

  • QUOTES (16)

    • Max: If you're really here to protect us, there's something you have to do. The only way we can ever go back is if nobody's hunting us anymore.
      Michael: Pierce is already dead.
Max: He'll only be replaced, unless we replace him.

    • Nasedo: It's not my job to show you. My only job is to keep you alive.
      Max: Your job?
Michael: Well if your only job is to keep us alive, then tell us. They're communicators. They communicate with who?
Nasedo: You're not ready to know yet.
Michael: They communicate with our home planet, don't they? Why don't you want us to contact them?
Nasedo: Because you don't know who else you may contact in the process.
      Isabel: Who else is there?
Nasedo: Set off those orbs, and you have no idea who you may be leading straight to us.
Max: You don't know, do you? You don't know how to use the orbs. If you knew, you would've already used them. You're here to protect us, but not to lead us, you said it yourself. But if you're not the leader, who is?
      (Everyone looks at Max)

    • Max: You were just trying to stop him. I know you didn't mean to kill him.
Michael: No, that's just it, I wanted to kill him. I mean, that's all I could think about. I wanted him dead, you know, and then I just did it. It just happened. What kind of person does that make me?
Max: We would have been dead if you didn't help us.
Michael: No, the bottom line, Maxwell, I kill people. I kill people, you heal 'em. You're good and I'm bad.
      Max: It's not true, Michael.

    • Alex (to Isabel): I know what you need to do and I know that you need to do it alone.

    • Max: When Pierce told me the things they've done to the other aliens... I'll die before I let that happen to any of you.
Isabel: Then we have to run.
Max: He'll just keep hunting us. There's no coming back. Are you willing to never see home again? Any of you? Then we have to fight.
Alex: Fight the most elite unit in the FBI?
Isabel: Who now knows who we are and everything about us.
Max: He does know who we are, but we also know who he is. We're stronger than he thinks. We're maybe even stronger than we think.

    • Valenti: Tell me what just happened back there, Max. All this time, I thought it was just you. It's Michael, too, isn't it? Isabel? My God. Man.
Max: You swore to me that we could trust you. I need to trust you right now. It's our lives, Sheriff. There's no time for doubts.

    • Maria: You can just throw me away just like that. Why is that?
Michael: Maybe because I love you too much. Goodbye.

    • Michael: Just get out of here. It's not safe.
Maria: It's never been safe. What difference does it make now?

    • Valenti: If I'd wanted you dead, you'd be dead.

    • Agent: What just happened here?
Kyle: I was kind of hoping you could tell me.

    • Liz: Do you just do that with everyone? Make them see things that aren't even there?
Tess: Sometimes it's easier to do that than to make someone see something that's right in front of her.

    • Kyle: Who the hell are you talking to?

    • Valenti: We'll be safe here for awhile.
Michael: There is no safe anymore.

    • Liz: So everything Nasedo told me was true. You and Tess were meant to be together.
      Max: Liz.
Liz: I mean, it's your destiny, right?
Max: I wish I could go back Liz. Back to when things were normal.
Liz: Me, too. I just wish that I could have stopped you from saving my life that day in the Crashdown.
      Max: Don't say that.
Liz: Max, the day that you saved my life, your life just ended.
Max: No, that was the day my life began. Liz, when I was in that room, and they did what they did to me. You're what kept me alive. The thought of you. The way your eyes look into mine. Your smile. The touch of your skin. Your lips. Knowing you has made me human. Whether I die tomorrow or fifty years from now, my destiny is the same: it's you. I want to be with you, Liz. I love you.
      Liz: I love you.

    • Valenti: I don't care who you are or what you are. I'll be here for you.

    • Max and Isabel's birth mother: My son, you were the beloved leader of our people. I have sent with you your young bride. My daugher, the man you were betrothed to, and your brother's second-in-command.
