  • Liz is on a mission.

This episode is great in a lot of different ways. First I'm looking to Maria and Micheal who took on the role of Liz and Max in this episode and were very romantic and cute and just a tad bit corny with each other. It was nice to see Maria falling apart and because Liz can't be there Micheal steps in to be there for her and starts acting like the boyfriend that he never really was. Liz is great in the episode as she spirals further out of control and gets more obsessed. Max, who is being a jerk in this entire episode, is amazing. He is so rude and stubborn to Liz and then when dealing with Isabel he is so unreasonable and hot at the same time. This episode really shows the contradiciton between him being a good guy and him being controlling, the dialog between him and Isabel is priceless and so hard to watch. When she burns the paper in her hand you just relate to her and want her to be able to have what she wants. Then at the end, the two shockers come of the fact that Alex never went to Sweden and Max and Tess. The whole time that was happening I was like please god no stop, but alas they did not listen.moreless
  • well, this one's a doozy in terms of plot development. character development, on the other hand, is sacrificed in order to move the story where the writers want it to go.moreless

    6.0
i love roswell, but this episode has everyone acting out of character. max is a tyrant, isabel's irrational, liz no longer cares about her relationships with any of her friends, tess is suddenly sweet and caring, michael is a bully and does a complete about-face in terms of his attitude toward all things alien.

to top it off, max and tess have sex! unbelievably out of character for max, though granted it's exactly what tess has been hoping for for the past year. a lot happens, and it definitely furthers the story arc, but i find it hard to believe that everyone would be so stricken by alex's death as to act so completely unrecognizable. is there some alien parasite inhabiting them all? is it a mind-warp? despite the fact that liz is right about alex, her attitude is the most unbelievable, though max's power trip is a close second. i didn't like either of them in this episode. apparently the writers forgot the previous two years writing this one. it will take a lot to rectify all the ruined relationships in this episode without creating major plot holes.moreless
  • Liz investigation in her friend's death is continuing in this revealing episode.

    9.3
Liz discovers a file in Alex's computer where it's written ''Leanna is not Leanna.'' Leanna being the Swedish girl in Alex's picture from his trip to Sweden. This leads Liz investigating where the photo was taken and the familly that received Alex in their home.

Sean gets into a lot of trouble to help Liz (five minutes after he told her he wouldn't) and all the clues Liz found points her the key to all of this is in Sweden.

So she prepares to embark on a little eurotrip of her own but all of this is cut short. Liz receives a call confirming her the place where the picture with Leanna was taken has been taken in front of a building that doesn't exist anymore. Which means, as Liz say ''He never went to Sweden''. So this leads Iz to investigate Leanna herself.

All of this is very intriguing. Is this going somewhere? Is Max right in saying she's lost it?

On the other hand, Isabel wants to get away from Roswell and wants to go to college next year. Which Max doesn't agree with. He needs her in Roswell in case something alien related happens.

The more distant Max is to Liz to more he feels his place is with Tess and on the other planet. When he talks about this with Michael, he reveals it's the opposite for him. He say he's been wrong all along and now that he feels home is earth.

Max is depressed and this leads him to go find Tess and they decide to make babies...moreless

  • QUOTES (9)

    • Michael (to Maria): We've been through some rough stuff lately. The thing is, you're right. I can't really imagine it happening, but I am gonna leave someday. It could be a year, or 2, or 50. But I'm gonna leave. It sucks. It's the choice we made to be together. But there is one thing that I can promise you, and that is that I can give you now.

    • Isabel: So, I'll change dollar bills into hundreds.
      Michael: You can do that?

    • Max: You think we have something to do with it?
Michael: I have no idea. I just wouldn't want our leader to be forming opinions based on what he wants to be true instead of what really is true. Anyway...
Max: Michael. The idea that Alex might have died just because we're here... I can't bear it. All those times you would run off chasing some clue to find out where we come from. Why we're here. Where we belong. I always thought you were chasing something that wasn't out there, because in my heart, I believed that we belonged here, you know? That we were human. Lately, I've been thinking that you might have been right all along.
Michael: Lately, I've been thinking I might have been wrong all along.

    • Tess: You see that star, the way it wobbles?
      Max: Is that our planet?
Tess: No, it's called Barnard's star. You can see that star from our planet, too. Our world's out there, Max. It's not close, and sometimes it seems like a dream to me, too, but it's real, and I know you know that, too. That's reality, Max. This... this is the dream.

    • Kid At School: Isabel Evans, you are hot when you're pissed.
(Isabel uses her powers to throw him into a locker)

    • Max: Don't make me the bad guy in all this.
Isabel: You are the bad guy in all of this.

    • Isabel: It's like the alien mafia.

    • Max: Isabel... Isabel, if I have to, I will do everything in my power to keep you here. I will tell our parents you have a drug problem. I will notify your teachers that you have cheated on every test for the last 3 years. If you ever leave Roswell without my consent, I will physically drag you back. For the last time, the answer is no. Period.
      Isabel: You're killing me.
Max: You let it get this far.
Isabel: Fine. This Isabel Evans is dead. You want to be the leader? See how it works without any followers.

    • Maria: One day you're gonna leave me. You're gonna get on a spaceship and go away, and you being the perfect boyfriend right now is really not helping me. I can't lose anyone else, Michael. My heart can't handle it.
