  • Max takes Liz on an adventure that ends badly for all parties involved.

    9.0
I really like Nasedo as Max in this episode, the way he does evil is so subtle and sexy that it adds dimension to his character. One of my favorite parts of this episode is Micheal coming together with Maria and Liz and then dismissing Tess was a nice move. I also really like Valenti in this episode and his interactions with the FBI and agent Pierce. Which leads me to how much I love Agent Pierce, he plays his character in such an interesting way that leaves you questioning his motives as he chases the aliens.

The scene in the house of mirrors is great as well with both Maxs, Valenti and Agent Pierce in there with Liz. When they take Max at the end, you just know that there are bad things coming.moreless
  • Max squared!

    8.3
We're finally headed towards the finale. Nasedo, in the guise of Max, kidnaps Liz in order to lure Agent Pierce, a special ops alien hunter, to him, so that he can kill him. Unfortunately not everything goes to plan.

A good episode - Max x 2, and it's a little creepy when non-Max kisses Liz and she realises that far from shooting stars, she sees dark clouds and lightning.

    Little SPOILER warning...

I didn't find it that much of a leap to realise that Deputy Fisher was going to turn out to be Pierce. His sudden arrival and anyone who has watched this kind of series knows he's going to turn out to be something more than he's claiming!

The ending at the funfair is great. I once went into a wall of mirrors place and didn't like it. It's weird, but it's a great setting for everyone trying to find out who and where everyone is. All the reflections and then Valenti realising he's not seeing a reflection but two Maxes who are in the same space. On a technical note, I don't know how they could have possibly filmed that piece without showing a camera in one of the mirrors, so bravo!

And the Max we care about is captured!moreless
  • They had to do this evil twin brother episode sooner or later.

    7.0
An agent of a special unit of the FBI has arrived in Roswell but hasn't shown his face yet. Also, Nassedo takes Max's appearance to kidnap Liz and use her to trap the special agent. Who all we know about is that he is a real danger, close to find the trio and is called Agent Pierce.

There are some nice special effects in this episode with a computer generated door that looks like a rocky wall. Also the mirror scene at the end is something we've seen tons of times in movies. It's just way overdone.

Also, Nassedo has the ability to change his appearance but it seems he can only change people's clothes... interesting...moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • TRIVIA: Valenti finally sees something to confirm his suspicions about Max - he sees two Maxes standing in front of him in the funhouse.

    • When Max calls Liz on the cell phone, he tells her "I don't know who you're with." Not only is it very obvious because there is only one shape-shifting alien who has been discussed for the last 10 episodes, but in the very next scene the gang clearly states that "Nasedo has Liz." So why not just tell her the truth?

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Liz: Are you gonna kill me?.
Nasedo: Not as long as I still need you.
Liz: Do you have to be Max?
Nasedo: Oh, I like it. Being him. Being 17. I don't think you would have been as friendly to Ed Harding.
      Liz: That was you?
Nasedo: I've been a lot of different people you don't even know about. But right now Max Evans is my most important role.
      Liz: Why?
Nasedo: Because, I'm the bait. Pierce is looking for Max and I'm gonna draw him to me.
Liz: So, why do you even need me?
Nasedo: You're my collateral. My hostage.
Liz: What kind of hostage am I? Pierce would just kill me.
Nasedo: Hmm, there's a thought... Actually, he wouldn't. He knows what Max did to you at the Crashdown that day. He wants you alive. See, he needs answers. You can come in extremely handy in terms of my survival. And even if you don't, you've been fantastic company.

    • Isabel: I thought you said we can't trust her.
Max: Who said anything about trusting her?

    • Isabel: How did they know what we would look like?
      Michael: Because we were designed.
      Max: That's impossible, Michael.
Michael: Whether you want to face it or not, we weren't born, we were engineered.
Max: Do you understand what you're saying? What that means we are? I won't believe that.
Isabel: I think he's right. I mean, we're paired just like in the pods. Max and Tess, me and Michael.
