  • Quotes

    • Meris: Heal him.
      Max: Who is he?
Meris: My husband. Clayton Wheeler. He owns all of this.
Valenti: So you're what, a few days away from inheriting his millions?
Meris: I don't care about that.
Valenti: Right, you just happened to fall in love with a man twice you age, who just happens to be a multi-millionaire.
Meris: Quiet. You don't know anything about me. Have you ever been married Mr. Valenti?
      Valenti: Once. Didn't stick.
Meris: Well I've been married for twenty-two years, now that is a long time to be with someone. Things change. Feelings change. Motives change. He is my husband now, and I am not gonna lose him.
      Max: What's wrong with him?
Meris: He's old. Unfortunately all the money in the world can't stop the aging process. Believe me, we tried. Everything. And then we heard a story about a girl in Roswell, who was shot, with no ill effects.
Max: Liz. That's why you had her dress.
Meris: We analyzed that thing for two years. The best scientists in the world couldn't figure that out. And then we got another little tip. Several children with terminal cancer mysteriously healed.
Max: In Phoenix. The surveillance picture of Michael from the hospital. You thought he was the healer.
Meris: Well, until he couldn't heal his friend. Then we knew we had the wrong guy.
Max: You killed Monk as a test?
Meris: My husband is dying. We're desperate.
Max: That's no excuse to kill someone in cold blood.
Meris: What's done is done. Now heal him.
Max: It doesn't work like that. I can't save someone from a natural death.
Meris: I think you can...and you will.

    • Maria: What do you drink now?
      Liz: No...a little bit.

    • Liz: Max is dead.
