  • A revealing and well written episode.

    8.7
After Max gets fantasy flashes about Tess and other unexplained events, the gang starts to investigate her. This episode was well thought, well acted and well written. I liked a lot those scenes at Tess' house where you don't know if everything is normal or something huge is about to be revealed.

De Ravin is, of course, present in this episode. And she just hides very well her Australian accent. Without knowing she was from Australia you'd think she was just a very articulate actress. Just watch her in Lost, you'll see how thick her Australian accent can be.

Something I don't like about her though in this episode. It's not her fault, but they just put way too much make-up on her and it's just distracting in some scenes.

The cliffhanger at the end is very good and some of you will never see it coming.moreless
  • This episode might not have been as EXCELLENT as the previous, but it satisfied my every need for entertainment. That Tess ending just left me on edge, in fact it threw me over!!!!!!!!!moreless

This episode was exciting. I felt sorry for Liz. But then again Max could not control himself. Tess was fishy, and so was her dad. It all seemed to add up: Mr Harding worked for the army, the box of photos of Max (maybe had all the others in it), Tess not allowing Isabelle to pick it up, Topolsky dead (FISHY), Pierce still in Roswell - they had to be the FBI. But then the ending made me think, what if Tess is Nasedo. I began to think Valenti was on their side, but then why was he taking pictures of the gang outside Tess' house? And who planted the camera on Michael's fridge, Pierce or Valenti? Why did Max kiss Tess? Maybe because her alien powers drew his attention. And does this mean Mr Harding is also an alien? We can only hope all this is for the good of the gang.moreless
  • Tess is something, but what kind of something? Is she maybe Czechoslovakian?!?!?!

    8.4
Max has the Liz-type visions only with Tess in them instead. What’s up with that? Valenti returns the communicator orb, so maybe he is okay! Liz pops in to Tess’s place to plant a bug, and stays for dinner.

Afterwards, watching the teed from the bug it appears that Tess has the Czech powers and fixes a lamp type thing that Liz broke. The suspense builds.

Emily de Ravin is cute and she does a quite reasonable American accent, but I would still be having visions of Liz if I were Max.

    • TRIVIA: The name of the reporter on TV when Valenti watches the report on the hospital fire is Thania St. John, which is actually the name of one of the show's writers and story creators.

    • TRIVIA: Tess is revealed to be an alien in this episode.

    • When Michael, Alex, and Maria examine the camera in the kitchen, Maria turns to her right, the camera view shows her facing forward and swaying to her left, then cut back to her face and she's still facing to her right.

    • When the gang goes over to Tess' house to rescue Liz why is it suddenly really dark, when Liz arrived in daylight?

    • When Tess is inviting Liz into her house the boom mic can be clearly seen in the middle of the top of the screen.

  • QUOTES (12)

    • Liz: It's like... everything I see with my eyes... tells me that he's... cheating on me. But everything I feel with my heart tells me that he's not.
Maria: I don't know, if Max is lying or what, Liz, I just... I know that you usually go with your heart.

    • Max (on the phone): Hello?
      Liz: Hi, Mom.
      Max: Liz?
Liz: Yeah, it's me, Liz. I just wanted to call and let you know that I'm over at Tess's house.
Max: What are you doing at Tess's house?
Liz: Mr. Harding's insisting that I stay for dinner.

    • Michael: You're just making friends all over the place, aren't you, Max?

    • Michael: We're using it to spy on Tess, alright?
Maria: Don't you think that's a little drastic? I'm mean we already know they kissed.
Michael: No, we think it's much more than that. We think they're FBI.
Maria: What? What happened to partners? What happened to an even exchange of information, Michael?
      Michael: I lied.

    • Isabel: It's nice to meet you, Mr. Harding.
Harding: Oh, please... "Mr. Harding"... it makes me sound like my father. It's the 21st century after all, call me Ed.

    • Valenti: Before you expect someone to trust you, you have to trust them first. Whenever you're ready, Max.

    • Maria: Max isn't human. What if Czechoslovakians can't resist temptations?

    • Max: I didn't know if it was true. I didn't want anyone to panic and do something stupid.
Michael: Hey, I'm trying to figure out which problem to panic over: you having secret meetings with Valenti or your new girlfriend Tess bringing the Army to town. You asked for my help.

    • Isabel: Hi, Alex.
Tess: He's got it so bad for you.
      Isabel: He's sweet.
Tess: Sweet as in nice guy, or sweet as in potential love connection?
Isabel: Sweet as in I don't know. What about you? You've been here a couple of weeks. You must have somebody in your radar.
Tess: Still soaking it all in. Although I have to admit, I'm a little bummed your brother is unavailable. I'm sort of into those serious mooded guys.

    • Liz: What's going on, Max?
      Max: I wanna talk.
      Liz: About what?
Max: Liz. About what Michael said before. About Tess…I just…I want you to know that I don't…I don't feel anything for her. I look at you, and I know you're the person I'm supposed to be with. I've always known it. What happened here that day, when you got shot…and how that brought us together…it's fate. Look at me. You're the one, Liz. The only one. I could never be with anyone else.

    • Max: I'm with Liz.
      Tess:: I know you are.
      Max: We belong together.
      Tess: I'm sure that's true.
Max: I don't want anyone but her.
      (He kisses Tess)

    • Liz: I saw you, Max.
Max: Liz, it's not what you think.
Liz: How could you kiss her?
      Max: I don't know. I don't know what's happening.
Liz: You know all those things you said to me, Max? Were any of them true?
Max: Liz. Liz, you've got to believe me. It wasn't me. She was there, she was waiting for me.
Liz: Oh. So it was her fault.
Max Something is going on with her, I'm telling you. Something isn't right about her!
Liz: Not right about her? What are you talking about?
Max: The way I'm driven to her, it's not just attraction... it's something else. Please, Liz, you have to have faith in me. In us.
      Liz: Have faith?
Max: Yes, until I figure out what's going on. I'm telling you when I kissed her, I saw things. I had a flash.
Liz: You had a flash when you kissed her, Max? Like when you kissed me? I guess I'm not so special after all, huh?
