    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • This is the first episode where the alien race of the Skinnies is seen, which are also from the book "Starship Troopers" from which the series is based from.

    • QUOTES (10)

      • Higgins: (Narrating) The war had been pretty simple up until then, us versus the bugs. But now with the Skinnies allied with the arachnids S.I.C.O.N. couldn't help but wonder how many other enemies were out there waiting for us.

      • Gossard: (the squad is being attacked by the Skinnies and Warrior Bugs) We certainly are popular with the locals.

      • Flores: (a Skinnie helps her up) Halfway across the galaxy and I finally meet a gentleman.

      • Rico: (looks inside building and it's empty) Looks like nobody's home.
Doc: Yeah, but are they ever coming back?

      • Flores: (sees simple structures in the distance) Since when do bugs build condos?
        Jenkins: They don't.

      • Gossard: (sees the desolation and the tumbleweed roll by) Remind me to fire my travel agent.

      • Jenkins: You can't understand a bug. It doesn't think like a human. Trust me.
Brutto: Well, don't keep us in suspense, Jenkins. What's it like inside a bug's head?
Jenkins: Empty and black. It lives only to kill.
Brutto: I wish I had a squad of troopers like that.
Jenkins: One's enough for any squad, Sarge.
(Brutto thinks for a second then charges at Jenkins)

      • Higgins: Lieutenant, I just need a few words for my pre-battle profile.
Razak: No. Is that few enough?

      • Gossard: Your boy's got stars in his eyes.
        (Rico is looking at Ibanez)
Flores: More like rocks in his head.

      • (About the Skinny culture)
Higgins: The dwellings are sparse; reflecting either a primitive nature or a highly evolved minimalistic existence.
        Jenkins: That narrows it down.

    • NOTES (2)

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • The team drops in a desert terrain with giant rolling objects which were references to dried wind-blown tumbleweeds, often used in American Western films. They symbolize desolation of the locale.
