  • The scenario is contrived, but it's nice to see Tod and Buz in a fatherly role (as opposed to a love interest one) for a change.

[mild spoiler alert] The premise of the episode is that a small New Mexico town has to kidnap a college-educated person in order to staff its small school with a competent teacher; Tod just happens to be the unlucky victim. However, that premise is so ridiculous that it makes a mockery of a serious issue, namely the underfunding of minority schools in remote territories of the country.

The only part of the episode that I found to be redeeming was the care and concern that Tod and Buz showed for the children they were teaching. Both showed definite fatherly potential and compassion as teachers, though their lessons were a little all over the place.
