Hamish Blake is an Australian comedian. Hamish's adventure into the world of comedy began when he began broadcasting a no-budget show called Radio Karate with friend Andy Lee. Although they only had an audience of about 8000 people, one fan was Guy Rundle - the executive producer of 'I'm Spartacus', an independent comedy production company - who saw something in their "charm and invention". After only 6 half-hour episodes of Radio Karate, Hamish and Andy were offered their own sketch comedy series on Channel Seven. Since then, Hamish (sometimes with, sometimes without Andy) has had radio spots hosting the Almost Midday show on Fox FM, and appeared on various television shows including Spicks and Specks, Australia's Brainiest Comedian, Thank God You're Here and Joker Poker - where comedians go head to head in Texas Hold 'em (Hamish was eliminated first). With Andy Lee, Hamish developed a comedy program for Channel Ten, called Real Stories - a parody current affairs program that was highly successful.moreless

Best known as Rove, John Henry Michael "Rove" McManus is an Australian comedian, presenter, producer, and television personality. In 1995, he moved from Perth to Melbourne in order to pursue a career in stand-up comedy. Three years later, he began making regular appearances on the ABC programs Good News Week and Good News Weekend, which saw him attract a strong fan base. In 1998, he joined Channel Nine to work on a late-night show for them, in an attempt to bring "new, fresh talent" to the station, before In moving on to The Comedy Channel where he worked on Dilemma, a show where four contestants faced mind-blowing dilemmas, and were awarded points for their efforts. On September 22, 1999, Rove's own self-titled show premiered on Channel Nine in the 11pm timeslot, co-starring Peter Helliar, Corinne Grant and Dave Callan. It received rave reviews from the media, who predicted "great things to come" from McManus. When Nine did not renew the show after its first season, rival Channel Ten picked it up. In late 2000, Rove Live premiered, with the same premise and a greater focus on A-list celebrity guests. The show ran for nine years before Rove decided to move to Los Angeles and break into the US market. He can be seen regularly on The Tonight Show and Chelsea Lately as a "roving" reporter, and will return with a new hosting role on Rove LA in September 2011 on Fox8.moreless

  • Dave Hughes

Dave Hughes is one of Australia's most impressive stand-up comedians, a rare beast in that every other comedian in Australia is only too ready to sing his praises. Since 1999 Hughesy has become one of the biggest and most loved names in Australian stand up comedy. A natural and unmistakably Australian comic, Dave's laconic style thinly disguises one of the fastest comic minds that this country has ever seen. After years of sold-out live shows at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, Dave commenced a new chapter in his career in 2002 as one of the inaugural breakfast presenters on the new DMG radio station, NOVA 100 in Melbourne. With co-host Kate Langbroek and anchor Dave O'Neil, 'Hughesy' has made radio history and is getting up damn early to do it. Hughesy is also on the telly as a permanent cast member of ABC-TV's The Glass House with Wil Anderson and Corinne Grant. So while Melbourne has had it for years, the rest of the country is catching the Hughesy bug. With Dave recently selling out shows in Sydney and Perth and more shows planned for more cities in 2003, Dave is fast becoming massive. His very first DVD aptly titled Dave Hughes LIVE is out now through Liberation Music. He will be back on the road again this October for a national tour with his new show Hughesy Rides Again.moreless
