At the beginning of the show, Gary said that there would be no April's Fools jokes, though he got splashed with water and fell through the trap door right after that. For the remainder of the show, he wore a bathrobe with a towel around his neck.
The short bits included Goldie wearing several funny bikinis, Judy as a maid cleaning, Barbara as Dear Aggie, and Dick at the elevator.
Ruth: When I went skiing I broke my leg in two places: once at the top of the hill, and once at the bottom.
Barbara: I want to kiss and hug you in the worst way!
Dan: Well, how about standing up in a canoe?
Johnny: Compared to this, my show's a sermonette.
Dick: May the good fairy...that's all, may the good fairy.
Gary: Tomorrow in beautiful downtown Burbank, look for smog, heavy rain, and continued good weather.
Flip: Boy, those Rockefeller brothers sure got it figured out. Nelson settles the strikes and Winthrop knows where the bodies are buried.
Jo Anne: Boris says the elections in South Vietnam were so successful that LBJ is thinking of running there!
Ed: You know, this show may bring back radio?
Barbara: I'm just an average American girl.
Dick: If she's average, I've been going out with boys!
Johnny: I wouldn't touch that with a ten-foot pole. Maybe an eight-foot Hungarian?
