Episode #35
AIRED:
The show started with the cast doing their vaudeville number, then after the intros, Dick said he was late for rehearsal because his female cab driver got lost. Next were several one-liners, the debut of The Quickies and the Flying Fickle Finger of Fate Award. Then Connie and all the girls get involved in Sock It To Me Time, followed by Gladys and Tyrone and the first short bits. Next was the news, where Connie and the girls dressed like hillbillies. Following were more short bits, the Mistake of the Week Department and the party. Next, Dick talked about his art lessons, which led into Potpourri, which included the first Question of the Week, Judy at the switchboard and Connie doing Stranger Than Truth. Then more short bits, more one-liners, and Dan asking about Dick going to his aunt's farm. This led to the second Question of the Week, followed by a saying from the Maharishi, more one-liners and a song about the good old days. Then more short bits, Mod Mod World about offbeat people, more one-liners, the good nights, the joke wall and the last short bits.moreless

    • TRIVIA (4)

      • During Mod Mod World, a mock award ceremony gave an actress award to a Jolene Brand. This is actually the name of the wife of executive producer/creator George Schlatter. Jolene is better known as the bathtub girl on The Ernie Kovacs Show.

      • The Flying Fickle Finger Of Fate Award went to the city auditor of Dallas, Texas, for asking for $27 in overtime from the widow of a policeman killed on duty on the day he picked up his paycheck.

      • During the news segment, Chelsea introduces a bit about Shakespeare selling a play, but she is wearing a Polynesian outfit, and not the hillbilly outfit at the beginning.

      • Rock Hudson is seen saying "You bet your sweet bippy." Then Tiny Tim says "You bet your own bippy", but bippy comes out "bibby."

    • QUOTES (7)

    • NOTES (3)

      • The short bits included Connie as Dan's maid, Alan in prison, the cast on a subway train, scenes in a laundromat, Dick against a firing squad and Goldie as a ballerina.

      • During the Mod World introduction Dan says he is completely heterosexual. During the Laugh-In Past Christmas Present special, an out take of this is shown where Dan slips and starts to say 'homosexual.' While everyone breaks up, Dick tells the producers to keep going.

      • Arte Johnson didn't participate much in the 'good old days' song, just doing the first verse then pretending to collapse.
