The short bits included Dennis and Johnny getting people on a stretcher; Gary reading safety hints; Lily as an air traffic controller hearing may day calls; Richard and Barbara as a newly married couple entering the honeymoon suite; Barbara, Lily, and Ann as nuns; Ruth welcoming her gorilla husband to bed; one-liners from Henny; Pat as a rickshaw driver; and the cast talking to Martha and Buffalo Bob with Howdy Doody.
The Flying Fickle Finger Of Fate Award went to the Texas State Legistature, for approving, without a dissenting vote, a resolution praising Albert DiSalvo, better known as the Boston Strangler, for 'noted activities and unconvential techniques involving population control.' One representative was trying to illustrate how carelessly state legislators sign obscure special bills, but the state legislature voted it unanimously.
Gary: This show was pre-recorded, because if it wern't, I'd be standing here right now without anything to say.
Barbara: What would be the best time and the best place to see lions on the prowl?
Dick: Any bar in Detroit after a game!
Richard: Do you Americans realize you're raising a whole generation of schoolchildren who think civil rights is something you have to take a bus to get to?
Dan: Raquel, how do you make a lion tamer?
Raquel: Well, I find a couple of martinis usually does the trick.
Martha: Dick, what would you say to a woman in the White House?
Dick: I'd say, 'We better get out of here before the Nixons get home.'
