    Phil Silvers brings his fast talking character to the show. The show starts with several one-liners, Jilly Rizzo introducing Dan and Dick and Phil saying that the best of comedy is in the past, with Dan and Dick saying there are catchphrases that get laughs now, including 'Sock it to me.' It ends with Phil saying it and getting doused. After the intros, and a short bit, Mod Mod World saluted the comic. This included a look at surprise, the pun, Phil teaching Dennis about visual comedy with a board, several mother-in-law jokes, the great show biz families, Phil trying to get Wolfgang to play the shell game, and Dan tricking Dick into getting a pie in the face, only to get doused with water. Next, more short bits, an optical illusion, and the news, with the Mothers Of Rhythm doing the opening theme. After the tasteful lady objects to a joke by Phil, he thinks she was a burlesque dancer in Detroit, then Edith Ann tells what she did with her uncle's Playboy. Following, more short bits, The Quickies, The Swizzlers, and Big Al covering the new sport of federnik. Then Phil gets Barbara booked on the show, more short bits, Ruth as an etiquette expert teaching how to eat spaghetti, and a bit where Dick uses his new portable phone to try and get a hold of Dan. Then the party, more short bits, Mervin the Magnificent, and Phil as a psychiatrist on the couch with both Dan and Dick. Finally, the conductor, Barbara thinking Phil was in Butch Cassidy, the good nights, the joke wall, the last short bits, and Barbara tap dancing in the bush with Wolfgang.moreless

Next, Edith Ann on germ welfare, the Swizzlers, more short bits, and the first news segment, with Desi and the girls singing a Latin version of the news theme. Then the girls interrupt Desi trying to sing, Desi takes a call for his son, more short bits, a man holding vases, and the first party segment. Next, Dick and David talking about the sexual revolution, the second news segment, a series of bad puns starting with Annette Funicello, Ernestine deciding who to give a ringy-dingy too, the Mod World of brevity(which Dick thought dragged a little), and Desi as a car salesman dealing with a customer wanting to buy a car for the advertised price. Following, more short bits, Desi hijacking a plane to Dallas to make sure it goes to Dallas, a Cub Scout troop following tracks, the cast talking to stand-ups, Mervin the Magnificent, more short bits, Ruth with a musical interlude, Dick talking about going hunting, and the second party segment(interrupted by Dennis' basketball player). Next, Arte's professor talking about dinosaurs going extinct, more short bits, Dick talking about taking skydiving lessons, and The Quickies. Then Wolfgang tries to help Desi with his pronouncination, more short bits, the girls interrupting Desi again, and the third news segment, including the closing news theme.
