  • Some great Evan and Divya bonding.

Really enjoyed the ep as it showcased Evan and Divya's (or "Divs" as he called her- ha!) growing odd couple friendship. Also glad that Divya "came out" to the parents. I don't care for Jill as a character or actress, so I generally just do other stuff during her scenes, so I can't comment on any of that.

Also enjoyed the episode ending with an Evan and Hank scene, I enjoyed getting more backstory on them.

The medical story of the week was somewhat interesting, but the Dad was so creepy t really took me out of his scenes. The actors turn on L&O:CI as a TOTAL creep didn't help matters.

The opening scene comments on Evan's seersucker country club outfit were pretty funny. "Atticus". Heh.moreless
  • Hank is helping Jill with a horse show charity for her clinic. Divya's parents are in town and she is hiding her job from them. Charlie, Jill's husband is back in town. Hank treats a girl rider who is going to great lengths to win for her father.moreless

Not really that good an episode. It sort of misses something or at least most of the parts don't work 100%. I enjoy the characters like always. I think it must have been the stories.

Hank treats a girl who is having unidentified problems and suspects the father of doping her. In reality it is actually the girl doping herself much like a Boston Legal episode from last year.

Divya is forced to come out of the closet per se when her father is stung by a wasp and blacks out. She saves his life but the price is them finding out she is a Physician Assistant. Of course Evan who was warned by Hank to stay out of it really was the one to spill the beans, but what do you expect. It's Evan. After all of this she blithely agrees when they say it won't be long until she's married and in London. Boy was that aggravating. Not a good storyline. I hope they don't hang this one on us for a long time. Off topic for a second. Why are they doing all the publicity for this show using Paulo Costanzo? He is a fine actor but his character is annoying at best. I'm sure the producers and writers must have got the message by now. Maybe not?

Jill's ex-husband (really not ex as they aren't divorced yet) shows up and gets the ER doctors job by going behind Jill's back. Hank treats him for a hand injury and then of course we have the awkward meeting at her office when she and Hank were having a moment and Charlie just barges in. I'm not sure why the writers thought we needed this storyline. Not good I think.

I don't think this is the direction the writers/producers want to be taking this show. Of course they know they have a big hit so it will depend on the masses reaction. Hopefully they'll be back on track next week. Thanks for reading...moreless

    • Jill: Thanks again for helping out.
Hank: Hey, that's what friends who sleep together and then don't talk about it are for.

    • Evan: You think when we have kids, we're gonna mess them up? You ever think about that?
Hank: Oh, sorry. I was just thinking about what kids of yours would be like.
Evan: Oh, what? Just smart and intelligent and just overall awesome.
Hank: So they'll take after your wife.

    • Evan: (to Divya) I'm proud of you, and I don't even like you that much.

    • Title:

Jamais vu is the opposite of deja vu, jamais vu involves a sense of eeriness and the observer's impression of seeing the situation for the first time, despite rationally knowing that he or she has been in the situation before. The rest of the phrase comes from one of former New York Yankee catcher Yogi Berra's most famous quotes, known as a Yogiism, "It's like deja vu all over again."
