  • Joe Alaskey

    Louis Pickles 1997-2004

    9.2
Joe Alaskey is credited as one of the successors (including Billy West) of the great Mel Blanc in impersonating the voices of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and other characters from Warner Bros. cartoons. His most frequent recurring Warner Bros. character roles have been those of Daffy Duck, Sylvester the Cat, and Tweety, but he has voiced many others. Some of his other Looney Tunes roles include Yosemite Sam, Speedy Gonzales (for various merchandise), Marvin the Martian, and the Tasmanian Devil (when Jim Cummings is unavailable). His first performance as Bugs Bunny came in the 2003 feature film Looney Tunes: Back in Action. Alaskey has also voiced various Looney Tunes characters in several television shows such as Tiny Toon Adventures (where he played the character Plucky Duck, Daffy Duck's tween counterpart) and Duck Dodgers. Alaskey has also done voices for people other than Warner Bros. He has voiced Grandpa Lou Pickles on Rugrats (inheriting the role after David Doyle's death in 1997). He also created the voice of a character for one of animation's legends, Chuck Jones', final projects. Alaskey was also heard briefly as the voice-over announcer for the Toon Disney channel. He was also the voice of Curt Connors in Spider-Man 2 (the video game). • Tress MacNeille

    Charlotte Pickles

    9.6
Tress MacNeille is one of the most renowned voice actors in the industry. Many heavyweights in the business consider her amongst the most talented voice actors in history. A veteran of the industry, she has been doing voice overs since the late 1970s; a few of her credits include Dot Warner, Hello Nurse, Marita Hippo, and Miss Flamiel from Animaniacs, Babs Bunny of Tiny Toon Adventures, the teacher on Casper (the animated series), Chip and Gadget of Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, Mom and many others on Futurama, Opal Windbag and several extras from Darkwing Duck, Lady Bane of Gummi Bears, Hey Arnold's Grandmother, Cho-Cho, Pepper Mills, Toast, and World's Oldest Woman on Histeria, Shenzi on Lion King's Timon and Pumbaa, Charlotte from Rugrats, Aladdin's Queen Deluca of Mesmoria, and various voices on The Simpsons (including many of the residents at the retirement home). People are usually surprised to find out how many shows Ms Macnielle has actually appeared on, totalling almost 200 projects to date. Although she has an enormous range, she tends to do mostly older or totally insane characters (or both). Ms MacNeille was nominated for the 1995 Annie Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement for Voice Acting in the Field of Animation for Dot Warner and the 1997 Outstanding Achievement for Voice Acting by a Female in a Television Production for Debbie Douglas in Freakazoid.moreless

  • Cree Summer

    Suzie Carmichael

    9.3
Cree Summer Francks was born July 7, 1969 in California to actor Don Francks. Her father didn't want to raise Cree in Hollywood so he moved them to a Plains Cree reserve in Canada, where they lived in a house made of mud. She later lived in a bus, a horse stable as well as a commune. Cree has had an extensive career in voiceover work. Her career started early in her teens when she got the part of the voice of Penny on "Inspector Gadget". It led to many, many more voice roles. In 1988 Cree joined the cast of "A Different World" as Freddie Brooks, a role which she kept for the next 5 years. In 1999 Cree released her first CD, produced by Lenny Kravitz (they met thanks to mutual friend actress Lisa Bonet). Cree continues to work as a voiceover actress in movies and TV as well as building her career as a singer. Her father is famed Canadian actor Don Francks, and her mother is Lili Red Eagle , a member of the Plains Cree First Nation. Her brother is former Much Music VJ Rainbow Sun Francks of Stargate Atlantis. She was born in Los Angeles, California, but grew up on an Indian reserve in Saskatchewan, Canada. Summer's career began in 1983 when she was cast as the voice of niece Penny on the original cartoon version of Inspector Gadget. Her unique, throaty voice was instantly recognizable to casting agents (as well as viewers even today), who began frequently casting her in animated programs. Many of these were part of cult franchises, like The Care Bears Movie (1985) and Ewoks (1985, part of the Star Wars franchise). Audiences finally had a chance to put Summer's voice to a face when she was cast as the afrocentric Winifred "Freddie" Brooks in the Cosby Show spin-off A Different World. Summer, a multiracial woman (of Caucasian, Black, and Native American descent) who wears her hair in a large afro-style, proved to have an appearance as unique as her voice. She remained a regular cast member of the show from 1988 through its end in 1993. During the run of A Different World Summer continued working in voice acting. She was cast in the short-lived television series Sweet Justice in 1994; it went off air in 1995. Barring numerous guest appearances on other live action television shows such as Living Single and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Summer's professional work since has been limited to voice acting. In all, Cree Summer has voiced over 70 animated characters between 1983 and 2004, many of them were African-American girls. These have spanned the realm of video games, cartoon television series, animated films and commercials. Among her most famous roles was in Tiny Toon Adventures (1990) as Elmyra Duff (which she reprised for Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain), Aka Pella in Histeria!, Dulcy the dragon in Sonic the Hedgehog, and Cleo the poodle in Clifford the Big Red Dog (2000-2003). Among her more recent roles are Susie Carmichael in All Grown Up! (itself a role carried over from Rugrats), and the Lincoln sisters Abby/Numbuh 5 and Teen Ninja Cree (formerly Numbuh 11) in Codename: Kids Next Door. In 2001, she did the voice of Princess 'Kida' Kidagakash for Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire. She also does voices in M&M's advertisements as the voice of the female green M&M. Summer has also ventured into the realm of music. In 1990, she sang background vocals on two tracks for fellow A Different World cast member Jasmine Guy's self titled LP. In 1993 she released an album (as lead singer) with her band Subject to Change. The album was not officially released by Capitol Records because of creative differences; the records that were produced were distributed promotionally and are considered a rarity. The band, with an aggressive political message and rock-soul fusion sound, remained popular as a co-headlining act with other performers. In 1999 Summer released the solo album Street Faerie produced by and featuring guest artist (and friend) Lenny Kravitz, the album was not hugely successful. Summer toured as Kravitz's opening act, but her label dropped her and a planned spot with Lilith Fair was cancelled. The label continued to promote it, however, sending out a four-track sampler to radio and issuing remix singles of the track "Revelation Sunshine" in Australia and Europe.moreless

  • Christine Cavanaugh

    Chuckie Finster 1991 - 2001

    6.7
Christine Cavanaugh is the incredibly talented woman behind some of TV's best cartoon characters. Her most well known roles are Dexter, the boy genius on Cartoon Network's "Dexter's Laboratory"; Chuckie Finster, the perpetually terrified toddler of Nickelodeon's "Rugrats"; and Babe, the sheep-pig from Universal Picture's "Babe". (Unfortunately, Christine was not Babe in the sequel, "Babe: Pig in the City", for "personal reasons". E.G. Daily, who also provides the voice for Tommy Pickles from "Rugrats", voiced Babe in the sequel.) Christine also lends her voice to such great characters as Gosalyn Mallard (Disney's "Darkwing Duck"), Oblina (Nick's "Aaahh! Real Monsters"), Dumpling (Disney's "101 Dalmations: The Series"), Marty Sherman (Comedy Central's "The Critic"), Bunnie Rabbot ("Sonic the Hedgehog"), Bamm Bamm ("Cave Kids"), Valerina (Nick's "Brothers Flub"), and many others. She guest starred in two episodes of Nick's "Salute Your Shorts" as Mona Tibbs, was in an episode of the "X-Files" ("Small Potatoes"), was in the movie Soulmates, and has been in many other movies. Christine Cavanaugh some how finds time for gardening and occasionally shopping at garage sales. She is also a member of the North Hollywood Playhouse West Theater Company. As far as TV, she has said, "I loved Rhoda, Mary Tyler Moore, Taxi, all those shows," although it is beyond me how she finds time to watch anything. When asked if she ever wanted to be another Rugrat, she told Nickelodeon Magazine that she would most like to be Angelica, because she is the "bad guy"; however, she also said that it is easy for her to play the part of Chuckie because she worries alot (one of Chuckie's most outstanding traits).
Ms. Cavanaugh was nominated in 1997 and 1998 for the Annie Award for Outstanding Achievement for Voice Acting by a Female Performer in a Television Production for Dexter.moreless

Although he was a good student, Stiles admits that "being a high-school senior gave me too much freedom." He got so carried away with his flexible schedule that he quit school a few months shy of graduation. At age 17, he dropped out of high school to pursue comedy full time. In spite of his parents' objections, he was able to support himself doing stand-up routines at small comedy clubs near his home in Vancouver, British Columbia. It was while he was working at one of the local clubs that he met Pat McDonald a graphic artist moonlighting as a waitress. The couple lived together for 10 years before marrying in 1989. In 1986, Ryan joined the highly acclaimed Second City comedy ensemble in Toronto, and later in L.A, where he honed his improvisational skills.
