Don't use aol spelling on tv.com please. Also did family guy end simpsons by taking over their air time?Spongebob is on 8 hours total all together. They can't give any time to any other shows, that's BS.All shows are ended because of another show,it's just a cycle. So yeah it is spongebobs fault

Nick has a history of not continuing shows after 10 yrs anyways if you look at it. Rugrats was getting old, and spongebob was a mega super ultra hit. Better rugrats go out old then on top and overtaken.

Sponge Bob's aim though was to get Rugrats cancelled. Then Rugrats couldn't cope, they tried to take Sponge Bob down with All Grpid wn Up!, but it didn't work as kids now a days don't enjoy normal life type shows like Rugrats, they prefer funny-stupid shows that don't have morals or meanings (like Sponge Bob) not funny -ha,ha shows that actually have sentances and meaning (like Rugrats!) And that's why I blame Sponge Bob!

How do you know the people at spongebob wanted rugrats cancel or are you just saying that because you don't like spongebob?

Rugrats didn't get canceled, it ended. They couldn't give the show a real ending as there was no central plot.

And the reason that Rugrats isn't aired anymore is because Nick can't make any money off of it so they aren't going to air it. Spongebob is responsible for 90% of Nick's income so its only natural that they'll show it as much as they can. Its the same with Toonami and Naruto and 4Kids and Pokemon/Ninja Turtles.

I'd love it if they showed Rugrats everyday or at least once a week, but we know that won't be happening anytime soon. Or ever.

You mean you don't think being 14 years old and jumped the shark had something to do with it?

I think that the fact that sbsp has to air 8-hours a day has to do with having rugrats not getting air-time.Sbsp is the reason for many shows being cancelled, but not rugrats.Spongebob is pushed so hard it's not even funny.Of course a sbsp fan such as yourself agrees to the fact that sbsp is the greatest thing since sliced-bread.

That makes no sense. You were just saying it's SpongeBob's fault, and now your saying SpongeBob's to blame for many shows but not the Rugrats.

P.S. SpongeBob IS the best thing since sliced bread.

There are several errors in your post. To start Family Guy is not doing better in the ratings then The Simpsons. The Simpsons still has over two million additional viewers per episode then Family Guy. Also, Spongebob is not responsible for the "death" of Rugrats. Rugrats has an extremely long run and it ended due to financial issues with Klasky Csupo. If one notices the studio ended production on all their shows including Rugrats, All Grown Up, The Wild Thornberrys, etc. Now, as for Spongebob's frequency on Nickelodeon it is simply due to the shows popularity. If one examines trends in the media for children's networks it would be noticed that different styles of shows are popular in different time frames. For example in the '80s action hero, product placement shows were in a surplus. In the '90s humor based adventrues were popular i.e Rugrats and In this decade slap-stick humor is popular. So it was just a matter of generations that caused the cancelation of Rugrats.

Rugrats made the mistake of the fact that at that time... People started to grow old of the Potty humor of Rugrats, and more into the more mature humor that was spongebob

Rugrats would have been still airing re-runs if it hadn't been for the movies

dil was the reason the ratings were going down

so instead of trying to fix the bad humor in those episodes, they added a new character which only made the show worse

it wasn't even the rugrats anymore

so, in bright understanding, it is spongebobs fault, but he wasn't the only one who contributed

As far as i'm concerned rugrats was the best show on nick in the 90's

    Spongebob wins the new milennium

it's like heavyweight championships with this network

There will always be a champion nearing the end of the decade

    rugrats time was up

in a period where they should've backed down, they battled it with the complete opposite of competition

    Humiliation

So there you have it, it's half spongebobs, half rugrats

You might want to check your facts, family guy has been doing better than simpsons for a while now. You can look up if you want.
