Episode Summary

Special: In this episode, the Pickles, Finsters & DeVilles journey to the notorious gaming capitol of the world, Las Vegas (the babies call it "Slots Vegas"). At a Viking-Circus-Arctic oriented hotel complex, the women go have fun on their own, leaving the men to watch the babies. Stu was stuck with the babies when Chazz and Howard decided to have fun on their own, while Grandpa decided to do a little gambling. All heck later broke loose in the smorgasbord room when the Rugrats escaped from Stu to look for Heimlich and Bob's "kitties" (actually, tigers, which are displayed on Jumbovision for everyone to see). And yes, we get to hear Angelica sing a real, professional song on Heimlich & Bob's stage.moreless

In this special Rugrats special, the babies and their families go on vacation to Las Vegas. Tommy's plan is to meet the "kitties"--better known as the tigers--in a magic show while the grownups have fun of their own.

The most amazing thing of all is that the episode contains an actual featured song--"Vacation" by the Go Go's. Angelica even sings her very own rendition of that song at the end. She sounded like a very professional singer.

I loved every bit of this episode from beginning to end. It's my #1 favorite episode! I love it so much!
My family goes to Las Vegas for vacation sometimes. I even took my Rugrats dolls to Vegas once. My favorite part is where Tommy jumps in the pool and his mommy gets surprised. It's also funny when you see the babies wandering around in the casino and at the circus.

I think the Las Vegas vacation special is the best Rugrats episode ever. I could watch it over and over again! Viva Las Vegas, babies!moreless

Rugrats' Vacation is one of the best episodes ever!! I loved it!! Basically, the whole gang goes to Las Vegas, Nevada. At a Viking-Circus-Arctic oriented hotel complex, the women go have fun on their own, leaving the men to watch the babies. Stu was stuck with the babies when Chazz and Howard decided to do a little gambling. Later on, the Rugrats escape from Stu to look for Heimlich and Bob's "kitties" (the kitties are actually tigers). I loved this episode so much! It is one of the best! It is awesome! I watch it a lot on VHS. This episode rocks!moreless

    • Goof: Tommy wasn't wearing his shirt in the pool scene. But when Didi mentions Circus Giganticus, Tommy is wearing his shirt. Edit
    • Goof: While Tommy & Chuckie are crawling on the floor between the buffet and the viking ship, we see the bottom half of a man in a red t-shirt, blue shorts and sandals walk from right to left past Tommy and Chuckie 3 times. Edit
    • Goof: Tommy wore pajamas when the gang arrived in Vegas. But when they reached the reservation clerk at the hotel, he wore his usual clothes. Afterward, Tommy was back in his pajamas through the pool scene. Edit
  • Notes

    ADD NOTES
    • Angelica's rendition of "Vacation" can be heard on the Newest Nicktoons CD. Edit
    • At the end of this episode, Angelica sings in such a professional manner, without any mistakes. Compare this to her earlier songs, when she frequently sings well-known songs incorrectly (especially the music scales and "Oh Beautiful"). Edit
    • At the top of this episode, the song was "Vacation", which was the title track from The GoGos' 2nd album from 1982 on the IRS label. The version used here is the original version from the album. Angelica's version, at the end of this episode, uses the same instrumental music as The GoGos, but different lyrics. This is the first time the series used a song recorded from a famous musician or group (besides Mark Mothersbaugh, of course). Edit

    • (Chasing the babies, Stu and Angelica prepare to get in a small boat.) Angelica: I'm not getting in THAT little thing! Stu: Pretend it's a game. (The boat sinks as soon as they step in.) Angelica: Uncle Stu, you gotta come up with some better games. Edit
    • Angelica: C'mon, Cynthia. Let's go practice our scales. (Singing) Go make me a do-nut real slow! Edit
    • Angelica: Say goodbye to the old Angelica, babies, 'cause I'm about to become a star! Edit
