    There can't be a person on earth who is not wowed by Pat Warburton's voice. His sarcastic tone was a huge plus in this series, and in this episode we get to see a serious side of him, when he screams at his dad.

    We also had the usual guy's movie thing in this episode. And for a change it is Godfather this time, as opposed to Die Hard. I sure can't deny the fact that the third part suck, and the first two are legendary classics. Man, is there anything you can disagree with Jeff. Russell's and Adam's storyline are getting too monotonous, that it is getting a bit stale. It is definitely funny now, but I'm sure you can't carry on long with a gay Adam and a manwhore Russell plots. It might work for Charlie Sheen, but sure won't for David Spade.

    I hope to keep my reviews coming for this show, though the Monday slot is getting too heavy. Wish they cancel HIMYM and give me the much needed TV space.moreless

  • Jeff and Audrey have Jeff's father over for a visit that becomes a little more of an extended stay when he injures himself. Meanwhile Russell is dealing with a women who won't leave his apartment and Adam is having movie issues.moreless

    I watch this show specifically because of the actors involved. David Spade has been a favorite of mine for years and Patrick Warburton just sort of grows on you.

    Brian Dennehy, looking like he's lost a little weight, does a cameo as Jeff's Dad. You can see where Jeff gets some of his notions about things. Audrey stands up for herself and in the end Jeff backs her up. I think this was a great storyline overall. Sort of a defining moment in a marriage.

    The Godfather/Gone With the Wind bit with Adam was pretty standard guy stuff. Most men revere Part 1 and 2 (they were Best Pictures) and can either take or leave Part 3. Gone With the Wind even though a classic is definitely not a man's man movie. In general that was a predictable sequence in the episode. It was funny how Jennifer "tested" him on the movie at the end after he tried to bull his way through without watching.

    Russell showing up with Heather was classic. She impressed him by sticking it out without food or water for 37(?) hours in his apartment.

    This episode was solid but not outstanding for me. I guess I expected more with Dennehy etc... Overall it was enjoyable and the characters don't disappoint. I would rather watch a mediocre episode of Rules over anything else they have tried in this time slot. Hopefully we'll see it here for a while.

    Brian Dennehy! Great to see him return to comedy as he was gold on David Spade's first sitcom Just Shoot Me and he was almost as good tonight. He has the unique ability to make you laugh at lines that if they came from just about any other actor's mouth would not be funny. I liked his storyline here a lot and it led to a rare, serious moment from Rules of Engagement, which was a nice change of pace.

    The Russell storyline was a little weird, as these are the kind of things that make people hate David Spade. I found his performance to be phoned in and barely got a chuckle out of his act.moreless
