The sixth season of Rules of Engagement had its episode order cut from 18 to 13, with two leftover episodes from the previous season. That was after having a full season in season 5. I can say that after a recent cancellation threat (for no particular reason, since the show is already averaging over 10 million viewers per episode) Rules of Engagement can end after this season... or the next. If the show does get renewed for a seventh season, it may likely be for 13 episodes. If it does not, give it a proper finale anyway by adding just one episode to the reduced current season.

Well it's done now. At least it got a chance to do a happy ending wrap up on everything. It had one of the weirdest rides for a sitcom that ran for that many years. Season six was aired in an especially scrambled order so that the running plot-line about the baby became strangely forgotten then back in front a few times. Maybe in a few years I'll pull out these 100 episodes and re-watch them to see if it stands up better or worse than I thought at the time. Having aired 100 episodes, they now get to live on in syndication heaven if they choose to try.
