seems rather similar to a show that is going to air on the same nite, Monday. What About Brian?

    ripped off?

Or maybe What About Brian is a rip off of this show. Just because Brian started first, doesn't mean it was made first.

If you see the pilot, you'll see the 2 shows have almost nothing in common. The focus is on the engaged couple and it's also a typical sitcom.

After watching the pilot, this show seems like it could go either way. As it stands it's just an average sitcom.

And this show has made The Class' season shorter. The Class deserves to succeed more than this show!!!!!!

One show cannot make another shorter. The Class was going to end one way or another, and the show that took it`s place just happened to be Rules of Engagement. CBS obviously just has more faith in this new comedy.

Who keeps giving David Spade sitcoms?  This is his third attempt on his third network.  He's been on all big three and failed on two of them.

but he was pretty good in eight simple rules...
anyway, about the rip-off thing, I think this show will be good, but it actually reminds me a bit of how I met your mother. I know himyt has a bigger plot, but you have two couples and a bachelor on there,(right now anyway), and its kind of similar. It's pulling at straws, but really any comparison is- just a thought.

well the show does not seem at all like what about Brian. The show is about relationships. One married couple one engaged couple and one single guy, and its a comedy! I have seen a few clips from the show and it looks really funny! and as far as giving David Spade sitcoms, they do cause he is really funny!

Check out this clip and tell me its not funny:

That was my first reaction as well. However, when I heard that folks associated with the show were feeling confident, I watched the clips. Spade seems to be really well cast in this show... IMO, his character on Rules makes his trademark wit and sarcasm work nicely. I liked what I saw... Am looking forward to the premier...

Wow, 24 and Heroes?  Harsh for Rules of Engagement.  I didn't watch, and I don't plan on watching, but from the commercials/premise of the show, it seems to me like some parts of it are similar to How I Met Your Mother.  Like there's an engaged couple, but mostly just because it seems like whoever Spade's character is seems a lot like Neil Patrick Harris' character, Barney.

I was thinking that when I was watching it. Don't think this'll last long though.

I loved the show! I could not stop laughing at it! I loved the chemistry between the characters. I especially loved Patrick Warburton  he is HILARIOUS! and I just found out it was number one for its time slot!

The show is basically Til Death with a little David Spade in there for Comedy. In Til Death, both couples are married and they have just met each other while in Rules, The younger couple is not yet married and they both have known each other for a long time.

That's what it was!  I couldn't remember.  My friend  watches 'Til Death, and I was going to tell her about ROE, and then I realized that she liked Til Death, and ROE was just like Til Death, so she'd probably like it, so I didn't tell her.  Don't ask why.

And even though both shows have the same concept the story is different which makes it seem interesting to watch. I hope this show gets renewed because we know The King of Queens is ending and there is no way CBS would bring The Class back after it's lackluster ratings so that leaves HIMYM, TNAOOC, and TAAHM for Mondays next season. I hope CBS adds Rules to mondays next season also.
