A predictable yet entertaining episode of Rules of Engagement. Like we all knew Adam's twitch was not stress related, I definitely knew it was the pasta. I don't know it just seemed like Rules of Engagement was trying too hard to be clever. "Oh it's the pine nuts in the pasta. Great tie in, woopdie doo." Also the cleaning lady's misinterpretation was predictable as well, the moment I saw Jeff see the shirt, I knew what would happen next.

As for Timmy & Russel's plot, I really couldn't care less. Timmy's imitation of Russel was good, but we just got a Russel overload with those over the top tag lines, made me want to jump off a cliff, I just don't like David Spade, and I don't think I ever will. Overall, this was a very predictable episode of Rules, not the best episode to open up with now that this show has moved to Thursdays.moreless

Jeff is the best

The Jeff day part of the episode had to be the best. Working Audrey is way better than non-working Audrey but the whole scene at that place is pretty lame. I did love the role reversal with Jeff calling her at work all day long and asking her all kinds of annoying questions. Is it possible that Adam is getting dumber? The writing for his character has been going downhill for a long time and he hasn't had much funny stuff since the cheerleading episode. The Timmy / Russel feud was decent. Timmy's impression of Russel was spot on, even through a phone.moreless

The Thursday night premiere of Rules of Engagement and the show did a decent enough job of making a good impression on viewers who may have been watching for the first time.

The Timmy and Russell storyline actually was not that bad although I think both characters have vastly jumped the shark. Timmy's Russell impression was funny though. The concept of Jeff Day was mildly amusing, and I liked Audrey's crack about Peru not celebrating Jeff Day, but this seemed like a gross misuse of Patrick Warburton in this episode.

Still, some laughs tonight. Definitely not the worst comedy on Thursday nights.moreless
