A very enjoyable episode of Rules of Engagement, I laughed almost all the way through, and I must say that this show has been getting better & better since the season started. We got some new character interactions here, and David Spade was actually tolerable in this episode.
It wasn't too Audrey focused which was a good thing. Even though the plot wasn't big, (guys playing mannequin head ball) it was still very funny. The fact that Jen & Audrey were watching the whole time was hilarious. I'm just glad that Audrey's "cookie business" is over.
The most hilarious part of the episode though was David Spade's character holding hands with Timmy under the table, both of them thinking they're holding their girlfriends are there, absolutely hilarious. Great episode of Rules tonight, no doubt about it.
Rules of Engagement is usually the highlight of my Mondays on television, but they had a really poor episode overall here tonight. I had wished for the end of the rented store storyline before it started, and I sort of got it here today, but this was not exactly the way I wanted to have it go down, with grown men playing a game dubbed "mannequin ball" in said store.
Also, they really need to find something for Timmy. This "relationship Timmy" is not the right way to go about it either. This is fine for Russell, but it just doesn't work with Timmy. I get that that is the point, but when it translates to bad comedy, that's when I get disappointed.
