The season finale of Rules of Engagement is pretty much what every recent episode of the show has been: some mildly funny parts and some not very funny parts.

The idea of Russell on a cruise with old ladies is not as humorous as they would lead you to believe. Did I get a slight chuckle of his dancing with them? Sure, but how this show has used David Spade the past few years is really embarrassing.

Adam and Jen deserve something better than inappropriate sex in a room with freshly painted walls, but the cereal comment got a laugh out of me. The Audrey and Jeff stuff was terrible though.

Fairly mediocre season finale. Nothing too special about it. What happened to Adam and Jen getting married? Or are they going to continue to save that, possibly for the series finale?moreless

So this is how the longest season of Rules of Engagement is going to end? Really!? We didn't really get any sort of sense of the future or a cliffhanger of some sort. Instead we just got 3 really lame story lines that really didn't go anywhere by the end of the episode.

As predicted, they were going to drag out this whole Liz/Russel thing until next season. Did anyone else find it really predictable that Liz was the one in the pink hat? I know I did. The Adam & Jen stuff was pointless. Where's the "rules of engagement" this show claims to provide? Weren't Adam & Jen engaged? Where did that go?

The Timmy, Jeff, and Audrey stuff did have potential but it just kind of fell flat on it's face by the end unfortunately. Oh well, I expected as much from Rules of Engagement.moreless

This episode is supposedly a finale. For a show that deserves to be canceled every year this episode did not make any effort to have a descent goodbye. The main couple spend the entire episode proving to the audience they are no good for each other and when they reunite, which, obviously, they are, it doesn't even feel sincere. Then there's the lame story of a single guy on a boat full of old women. It doesn't add anything to the table nor does it offer up some laughs. Finally we have a couple having sex in a painted house. Guess what happens? You can't right? Because it's so impossible to guess what happens there.

Seriously wondering who watches this show, why and why every other show that ended didn't deserve this timeslot.moreless
