In a episode with several love twists Rumpole comes to the defense of a school teacher accused of "inappropriate behavior" with a 15 year old, while Miss Trant has broken her engagement with Claude Erskine-Brown only to discover she is "up the spout" with her former lover as the papa to be. The trial judge is George Forbisher, former head of Chambers, whom Rumpole thinks he can manipulate in his favor bus soon discovers that is not the case. Rumpole ends up cross-examining the girl, now 16, and she tells of a long, twisted chain of pratical jokes and revenge. The teacher is sentenced to 2 years in prison and the episode ends with the Trant-Erskine-Brown wedding.moreless
