  • Unoriginal, unlike the painting

This episode was rather boring (but then again I am not a student of art). Rumpole enters the world of art as he defends an art student (who has to be in his 70's at least) of forging a painting which is what the defendent wants everyone to believe. He is a bit eccentric and Rumpole doesn't not seem to get very far with him on the stand. But after conferring with the man's daughter, Rumpole calls his ex-wife to the stand. She points out several details that prove conclusively that the paiting is real, much to the defendent's chagrin.moreless
