Misao uses the term "poker face". Poker was most likely not introduced to Japan in 1878.
Kenshin: Time to stop playing tag. Misao: What are you talking about? It's just begun!
Kenshin: Charging attacks from light people aren't very effective, so even if you hit... Misao: I was just trying to gauge my opponent! Next time I'll be serious, you might die!
Misao: Did your wife run away from you? Kenshin: I'm not married! Miaso: It's a joke, just a joke.
Kenshin: It's about time you forgot about your own feelings, for the sake of your own happiness. (Flashback of Kaoru)
Kenshin: She is no ordinary girl, but you can tell that by the way she dresses. Misao: Whatcha staring at?!
Misao: You're telling me to forget Aoshi?! The reason I'm searching for him is because there is no way I cant forget about him!! How is forgetting about the one person you care for the most in the entire world every supposed to make you happy?!
Kenshin: I've just had so many battles on river-beds and bridges that I've just gotten sick and tired of them. It's actually a simple matter to destroy a bridge like that one, as long as all the weight is concentrated in the center.
Misao: What was that.. ?!? STOP PLAYING AROUND WITH ME YOU BIG JEEERK!! I'm asking you nicely to tell me where Lord Aoshi is!!!
Misao: What?! Do I have bad breath or something, you illegal, sword-carrying, dumb, red-headed, long haired jerk! You cross-shaped-scar-faced weirdo! And you have lousy taste in kimono, by the way! Kenshin: While I enjoy your 'colorful nicknames', my real name is Kenshin Himura. It might be best to call me by that. Misao: If I call you by your real name, will you tell me about the guys in the Oni-Waban Group? Kenshin: No, because that is a completely different story that it is.
Misao: Get back here ya jerk!!! Kenshin: The rain has stopped that it has!!
Misao: Don't just stand there and talk to me like you know it all! Your a big knucklehead!!!
First appearance of Makimachi Misao, of the Kyoto Oniwabanshu. She meets Kenshin while she's looking for Aoshi... not knowing that Kenshin knows the fates of Aoshi and the Oniwabanshu.
