In an online chat, Melissa Joan Hart mentioned that this is one of her favorite episodes of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.
Hilda is transferred back to the northern part of the Other Realm after not filling out her immigration papers. The northern part of the Realm is a lot like the stereotype of Canada: cold and snowy, hockey is being watched on TV, and on the wall beside the phone are pictures of Canadian stars. Even the way Hilda talks is Canadian. This is actually because the actress who plays Hilda, Caroline Rhea, is from Canada.
Sabrina doesn't actually eat the pancakes. She receives the black pot and goes to catch her bus.
She is forbidden to eat pancakes in this episode, but she eats them in front of her aunts in the very first episode.
Hilda: If Aunt Zelda were here, she'd give you some kind of parental lecture, but because she's still waiting for me to save her, I'll have to fill in. Hm, Sabrina... you...
Sabrina: Should listen to you guys and trust your advice.
Hilda: Right! And...
Sabrina: Realize that it's easier to solve problems when I ask for help.
Hilda: Exactly! And always...
Sabrina: Know that my family is there for me.
Hilda: Right! Man, I am good...
Zelda: Just remember, it's times like these that build character.
Sabrina: I don't want character. I want pancakes!
Libby (holding a pancake): Hey Sabrina, this one fell on the floor. I thought you might like it.
Sabrina: Oh, what's the catch?
Sabrina: I'm just glad not to be hallucinating anymore.
(The imaginary Mrs. Mapleton passes by)
Sabrina: Oh hi Mrs. M.
Salem: Who is she talking to?
Sabrina: I was... She was...
(Sabrina faints)
Zelda: Hard day.
Hilda: Lots of sugar.
Mountie: Freeze.
Hilda: Like we could do anything else in this weather...
Mountie: Where do you think you're going?
Zelda: To the mortal realm, to our home.
Hilda: So we'll be on our way and you can get back to chasing Snidley Whiplash!
Zelda (reading letter): "Thank you for filing your request for change in immigration status. Please expect a response within 5 or ten working years." YEARS?
Salem: Ooh, that's too bad. I am really gonna miss, uhh, Helga?
Salem: Why do you still use the Pony Express?
Zelda: I got a coupon 150 years ago.
Sabrina: Oh Salem, you must be up early for your paper-route. Can I zap you something to eat?
Salem: Good idea. You know, I've always felt that breakfast is the most important meal of the morning.
Sabrina: Do you know what we never have in this house?
Salem: Possum.
Sabrina: No, pancakes. (Zaps in some pancakes)
Salem: Pancakes for breakfast! You're mad!
Hilda: Pancakes!
Zelda: No!
Sabrina: You know, the whole fork-up-to-my-mouth thing implied I was going to eat those.
Hilda: No pancakes. Not in this house. Not ever!
Sabrina: What are we, fanatic waffle people?
Zelda: You mustn't ever eat pancakes. No one in our family can eat them. It's a family secret.
Sabrina: The family secret?
Hilda: Just a family secret. But not being able to eat pancakes is one of the darker and more frightening secrets.
Zelda: One bite of pancakes and you'll be hooked for life.
Hilda: It's almost as shameful as being hooked on phonics.

Westbridge High - "The Pancakes Song"
Valerie and Mr. Kraft do not appear in this episode.
The character of Mrs. Mapleton is very similiar to Mrs. Butterworth. Yet, for copyright purposes, the name was changed.
Sabrina's witch-pancake addiction is a nodding reference to a 1969 short film called Winter of the Witch. This film was in turn from a children's book and was about a witch who made magic blueberry pancakes that made everyone feel euphorically happy and see LSD-like visuals.
